Why? If they made a deal and he reneged on it,he should pay. Plus maybe learn how to drive.

Engines are cheap compared to the body work on a 917.

If you read the whole article it says that he was an exsperienced race car driver with seat time in older race cars.

The writer claims the owner agreed to pay any damages during the track time. In my opinion it was a mechanical failure. He didn't wreck the car.

My question is, why didn't either one of them pay for insurance? The writer was already paying $3200. I would think insurance wouldn't have been much of an issue. Puttin a classic race car worth 2 million without insurance isn't the smartest decision for either parties.
