Another cold Smokey Mountain morning but for some reason the cold does not bother me as much up here. Maybe it is the altitude or the clean air but it is nice. I like to sit out on the balcony and drink my coffee. I tried to get a pic of the Smokey Mountain alarm clocks this morning (crows or ravens which ever you prefer to call them). They moved before I could get focused in on them. I'll keep trying. HAGD crew.

Diane my wife and I did that same trip you are on many years ago. We did not take the train up to Pikes peak however I just drove up there. It's really beautiful enjoy the rest of the trip.

Good morning everyone! I have a few minutes of down time, for once, so I though I'd say hi. Having a blast. Driven cars as old as 1928 Pontiac on up to a 2011 Toyota Tundra. I've pushed an Allard, Pierce Arrow, and a Dodge. And boy do I have stories to tell! This is hard work, with some 15 hour days, but the perma-grin will last forever

Back home from Barrett Jackson. I'm exhausted, but it was an intense blast! When they hired me, one of the managers said, "If you ever wanted to know what it was like to be a rock star, you're going to find out this week." We'll, I found out what it is like to be a rock star at the Super Bowl!

Now we're all returning to our normal routines with one change; we all now have perma-grins.

Story number one is a quickly. I had the pleasure of meeting a family selling a long owned and loved car. After the hammer dropped, I drove it to the "area" where it was to be stored, but could not enter because of the back up of cars. I had to move it three times, and each time I returned to the car, the new owner wanted me to let him drive it. Our protocol states the transaction must be completed before a new owner can drive it, and I relayed this to him. On the third move, he then asked if he could ride with me, so I let him get in the passenger side. Upon entering, he SPILLS AN ENTIRE BEER on himself, the carpet, and the seat. Now drenched, he looks at me to, I guess, dry him off??? Told him I had no rags. Someone else on my team sees what happened and brings a detail rag for him to use.

So he soaks up some beer off his clothes, drys the seat up, and says, "Me and this car are off to a rough start."

I don't think this was the car's fault.

Daaang LBM. I wanna take Lightning out for a run too. Yesterday when I was driving our Subaru I could see a cloud of salt dust coming up off the road for every car driving by. Ugh! Lightning is gonna hafta stay in the garage for now. It's 9* here at 10 am. Only supposed to get up to 19* today. We haven't seen anything over 22 or 23* for a couple of weeks now - I'm already tired of winter. Move along ol' man winter. Send some spring our way now.
