Wooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooooooooooo! Gatlinburg bound! Have good Friday & a great weekend crew.

BTW Andy (GnyaTek) I think you are one of those great catches still out there.

Good luck to all back in the job market or going back to school. I have been there too many times & it is a terrible feeling. I too am in the position of not having the right degree for my current field. I have been lucky so far because of a particluar set of rare skills I have developed (expertiese in preschoolers, victims of abuse, parenting skills, etc). But my luck could run out (again) at any time and finding another job in the field with the "wrong" degree would be close to impossible.

Hang in there everyone.

Good morning gang. Got home last night hit the books for a bit and while lurking in the background read back a few pages and forgot to post a goodnight but that wouldn't be lurking would it?
Gary sorry to hear about the job but hope you can make the best of your time off and enjoy it. You all are welcome down here.
Great picture Mr Twisty and Happy Belated Birthday!

Heading to Phoenix Tues to do some paperwork, drug testing and fingerprinting. It has been ages. Hope can find my way. This should help. Have a great day all. Will check in later.

actually, this was just seconds before they over-ran him and he freaked out!
Perhaps they took offense to the dirty joke and his fowl mouth?

Twisty, there ain't no snow where you live! You're just trying to yank our chains. Anyway, Happy Birthday dude. Don't get that pickup stuck in the snow.

I really like that picture of the child facing the ducks. Awesome. Reminds me of a little story - when my younger brother was about 5 he had mom make him a net and fasten it to the end of a broomstick. He wanted to catch butterflies. We went to a fireworks show for the 4th of July at a local park that had a small pond in it. Of course he had to take his butterfly net. When we got there he spotted some geese down by the pond, so he headed their direction. Well, he netted one. You never saw such an angry goose. That goose tore thru that net and started chasing my brother. He got "goosed" several times. My dad had to scare the goose away before it would quit nipping at my brother. I laugh about that to this day.

Skyman, isn't that Noah's Ark to the left and a little above the arrow in your picture?

Ok, here is a video someone emailed to me yesterday. It's so, so, so something I decided I had to share it.

We don't get snow often, but when we do it's ..... interesting

I remember one year back in the hi school days, we had a snow storm. I'd get stuck in my Camaro, brother would push, he'd get stuck in his short bed pickup, I'd push.... repeat numerous times

That video is awesome!

I have so much experience, I can do a lot of the good jobs; but they all require that piece of paper. Experience and know-how seem to count for little these days, and pedigree is everything. As evidenced by so many of the idiots I have worked for in the past. I'm not knocking people with an education, I'm just speaking of the ones who apparently spent their time at college in a drunken stupor, or who were taught theory by professors who had no real world experience.
If you don't mind me asking, what profession are you in?? We've discussed a bit of aviation in this forum and I'm wondering if that is the field you work in? I do not have a degree but the USAF trained me well and I was able to take that training and experience to the FAA. Fed jobs in the FAA are very hard to come by and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think about how fortunate I am to have this one. Anyway, if you are in an aviation related field or not, there are many contractor jobs that come available in the FAA that might fit your experience and located in the Washington State area. The FAA's Northwest Mountain Region there in Seattle just might have something of your interest and/or skill-set. If you have a unique specialty, I can track down an office to put you in touch with and see if they have contract-support help.

Just throwing that out there if you might be interested.

Gary sorry to hear about the loss of your job. I would be in the same boat as a lot of you if I lost my job. Lots of experience but no certifications would make for a tough search. Twisty pickups are great in the snow once you add 4 wheel drive mine will plow through 14" like it's glued to the road. Have a great vacation Janice. No 3 day weekend for me my employer does not close for MLK's birthday. Have a good weekend all.

Hey every body, just checking in here and catching up a little on what all is going on. LBM hang in there girl, it will get better, I am on my third marriage, after each of my last divorces I just picked myself up and dusted my self off and got right back on that horse (so to speak) and wasted no time getting on with my life, I am the type of person that believes that once the person I love and put my whole life into decides to throw it all away, I just get right back out there and give someone else a chance, ya I got my heart broke a couple of times, but there aint no sense kicking myself over it, life is too short......better get moving on instead of wasting time getting all tore up over something that is obviously over and has no chance of coming back. I have learned that not EVERY woman out there is the same.
There is a man out there for you LBM I just know it, just have faith.

On another note, it has been raining here so much lately that the 3/4 mile dirt road is now solid mud from end to end, I now have my wife wait for me at the end of the road in her Jeep Wrangler and some tow straps in case I get stuck in the Camaro, but Lil Blue actually does really well in the mud, she just plows right through it, my wife is actually surprised at how fast I do get through it all lol. It sure is great to have her there at the ready in her Jeep.
