I like the idea of an FR-S competitor. I drove an FR-S last summer, and it was awesome (other than the lack of torque). It would be nice to have something similar, but American. If they do build it, it sure as hell better have something better than the 1.4L Cruze engine, though.

The replacement is being trained? That's a concern for me, too. I don't think it'll replace the Camaro, but it wouldn't surprise me if such a thing would be put out as a "poor mans" alternative to the Camaro to start before ending up being in the same price bracket, with the Camaro becoming significantly more expensive one generation or so later.

BTW, I like the new signature, though in may case, I'll scream like hell at the V8 stage.

I guess that'll be when the Corvette starts in former XLR price territory (MSRP in 2004 was $75,385) and the Camaro starts in Corvette price territory.

I'd buy one to go along with my next car (c7, new Mustang, or 6th Gen)

I hope they make this, I will be needing to replace my work car soon. 2004 Cavalier just turned 225,000 on the ODO.

I think that car still needs some minor work (I still don't like that front end!), but it is a better competitor to the FR-S.

Yeah, I know the concept is FWD but I think it would do well RWD with the LFX. Then have the top model the 3.6 TT.

I'm glad GM understands the attraction of a small, lightweight RWD car. I don't see myself buying one (I like V8 RWD cars) but I know there's a big fanbase out there for cars like this. If this car goes into production, it would be cool to see it similar to the 130R. I've always liked this concept. I'm not a fan of the 140S though.

Well, to go RWD there would have to be a lot of changes. Proportions would be different which means the overall design would end up different.

Not saying it couldn't be done, it's just the 140S was designed to be FWD from the start. And according to some within GM, it is 100% production feasible. Basically just needs a green light. Same goes for the 130R.

Also, it's a small car. About the size of a Cruze. I doubt the LFX would even fit.

The more I see the 140 concept, the more I like it. I just prefer it to be RWD. Either way, I have been saying GM needs a something like the Dart, FRS or TC for a while.

I definitely like the 140S more than the 130R. The lines and overall design just flows better. And I do wish we could get the 140S body on the 130R's Alpha platform, but I've seen renderings of the car with RWD proportions and while it still looks all right, it loses some of its appeal.

I like the look of the 130R better. The 140S looks like a Mitsubishi Eclipse, which imo looked good in pictures (at first) but not on the road. To me the 130R has a 1 Series look to it.
