I feel like it was time to lose the lights. Hell i was forbidden to buy a c6 z06 by my significant other BECAUSE of the tail lights.
To show this car as being completely new would be hard slapping design elements for the previous gens in the mix. Change isnt always good.....I believe this to be a great one...imho |

I actually hated the oval taillights on the C5. I think the Corvette needed a new look.

Did a 63' look anything like the Gen1? NO! Did the 68' look anything like the Gen2? NO! It was time for the Corvette to move ahead and be cutting edge as in years past. Great Job GM!

You're right the different generations don't like alike ,but they all share key points that scream Corvette. There is no mistaking any generation of Corvette with any other vehicle on the road with the exception of the C7. Myself and my father-in-law are huge Vette fans ,and this is a major fail for both of us. But, then again we were never into the transformer movies. |

Sure there are similarities to other cars but show me any car that does not have a similarity with another car...

As has been pointed out they worked heavily in the windtunnel on the design, hmmmm just like Ferrari, Lamborghini, McClaren...and so on. Maybe this is why they start looking similar. And c'mon the C7 front end looks like a next gen Corvette. If you look at the C6 and C7 together the C6 looks 10 years old. In my opinion the C7 is a BIG leap forward.

I have glasses, and they work great. Thanks for being concerned about my vision. I'm sure it's the best Vette ever performance wise ,but it's not a Corvette to me and many other people that love the Corvette around me. I'm sure they'll sell fine though.

I love the Corvette too, and to me this new Corvette is as fresh and exciting as the 63 Split Window Coupe was. I did own a 65 Stingray in the 70's and this one is just as much a Corvette as that one was.
