How? In prior Stingray generations, EVERY Corvette produced was designated a Stingray.

Was it? Idk much about Corvettes, seems like it would be a better idea, from a marketing standpoint, to have a base, Stringray, Z06, ZL1... etc..

Actually from a marketing standpoint it would be a better idea to not have a base Corvette at all. A lot of C6 owners opted for the Z51 package just so they wouldn't have a "base Corvette."

Not necessarily.. you're missing the point. If there's only one option... the Stingray, at one price, you're going to scare away buyers looking to get a few less options at a lower price.

Little problems but not too bad. I'm actually having really good luck this past weekend. Thursday I went on Southwest Airlines website and found super cheap airfare to Phoenix. So I purchased the airfare now I went on their website my 228 airfare shot up to 398 SCORE

I was debating about going to the Camaro Sturgis in June. I decided to call up the host hotel I scored the last room.

My good luck is back I hope for awhile

But here's the problem: we could go all day with that viewpoint. Hell, let's decontent it to the point where it's using an ECOTEC 4-cylinder. If we didn't, then we might scare away buyers looking to just get the car without the performance price. Let's rip out the performance seats and shove Malibu seats in, etc, etc.

In the end, it's a Corvette. It's something you work towards, not something that you just save a few paychecks and buy (unless you make a really decent salary).

GM has already said if you can afford a C6, you can afford a C7. And I think the point of the Stingray name is simply to eliminate the "base Corvette." There really isn't much of a change from the C6's model lineup, you're just replacing the standard C6 with Stingray.

And besides, the red car we saw at the unveil isn't the base Stingray at all. It has the Z51 package installed. Eliminate the rear fender vents/spoiler and a few other performance parts and you'll get the base Stingray.
