I thought I heard the overall weight was increasing.

The frame saves 100ish pounds over last years base, but extra gadgets and safety were bringing it over the weight of a C6.

Someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

I thought I read it was supposed to be lighter.

Guess we will have to wait for the official numbers to know for sure!

To me looks much more like a Ferrari + an "already-old-futurstic-video-game-rear-end"

Could have liked, but do not

They made it sounds as though weight would be similar to the current car...due to all the weight they pulled out with aluminum, or CF....but that was all counter-balanced with everything (safety, features, fuel economy) they put back in.

But they achieved a PERFECT 50/50 balance, and dramatically lowered the center of gravity...

Hmmmm i swear I read somewhere that is was supposed to be lighter but this say's the opposite. Give us official numbers!!!!!

"Despite the mass reductions above, the C7 Corvette will be heavier than the C6 due to its laundry list of new hardware and improved crashworthiness. GM was not specific about curb weight other than acknowledging that, yes, the C7's curb weight will be higher than the current car. Our guess is that the new car will gain about 100 pounds over the C6"
