See I think this about all the models. I understand how they perform and thats awesome . . they are just awkward looking and kinda nerdy.

Why bc some people are fortunate enough to have the Camaro as a toy, or weekend car. And the WRX as a DD. Its a good looking car for a sedan, offers fun factor so its not boring, so thats probably why people have both.
Im not one of those people that worship the camaro. I do think its one of the sexiest cars on the road but I appreciate a lot of other cars. I think the genesis is pretty cool looking minus the weird little front grille, and the newer mustang looks great! There are a lot of cars thats are pretty awesome out there these days. The WRX however, has to be one of the ugliest. There is nothing aesthetically pleasing about the car!

I've had a '91 Accord that I just got rid of that ran for 206K miles without a single issue and Honda always took care of me without a single question. I now have a Mazda3 with 90K miles on it as my backup car for the Camaro, and Toyota (as my Mazda dealer is shit) takes GREAT car of the Mazda too. I have no issue with the Japanese car companies, they've taken great care of me.

But ok....you can be counted as an outlier.
You see there's the rub, you are an import kinda guy. I have to agree with some of the others. I was born and raised in Detroit and haven't owned anything but GM products for the past 45 years of car ownership. There is no way I would ever think about owning an import, and it has nothing to do with looks nor performance.

Subarus have always been wildly popular in my alpine mountain community. The AWD/ 4WD capabilities are probably the biggest draw, as we get a lot of snow 'round here. With the sporting capabilities of the WRX, it can still hold it's own on a summer day slaloming through the same winding roads. I'll agree that it isn't pretty, at least not to me, but: Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. And even if it DOESN'T look beautiful to some/ many/ most beholders, then call it a sleeper: It's performance is nothing to sniff at.

therefore it's irrelevant.

I guess that's what I get for using google image search again :(. More than anything, I was just looking for a white sti with black wheels.

I agree with you that a G37 is a nicer looking car and will perform quite well in stock trim. Aftermarket support is not a big plus for the VQ37 engine though.

I think the typical consensus is that it's a punk kids car, so people are kind of put off by them... Ugly? You must have seen an 08 or newer one fly by It all comes down to personal preference I suppose. I personally think the 02-07 WRX/STi looks pretty awesome, although I'm not a fan of the STi wing... Don't knock it till you try it, they are really fun cars and can really carve up some asphalt... I've owned an 05 WRX, and an 07 STi (I actually traded the 07 in on my Camaro), and my father has owned an 05 Legacy GT (love these cars), an 05 STi, and currently has an 06 WRX wagon... Tons of fun!
