You really want to bring up American recalls after the recent Toyota fiascos?

No matter the year it just looks really nerdy and not sexy at all. I understand they are great cars being awd, pretty good on gas, and the STIs are crazy fast . . but still they are ugly as all get out! Now this is just my opinion, so dont rip me for it haha and if given the STI version I would take it bc its so quick, but I just dont get how one can buy the sexiest car on the road and turn around to buy the ugliest. Anyone??

Side Note: STI . . really? You cant go around telling people you have an STI. (sexually transmitted infection) sorry I am a health teacher haha
I was like you once, I thought it was a pretty ordinary looking car too, then a friend of mine let me drive her 2007 WRX STI, after rolling through the gears a few times and wiping the stupid grin off my face the WRX went from a 2 on the looks scale to about an 8. I`m now a believer! Amazing how a little performance can transform a ordinary looking car into a "Dam I wouldn`t mind owing one"!

I suppose that`s what they meant by "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

I think I could see myself driving this. I guess we all have differences of opinion. I'm not a huge fan of the wing though.

The STI is not good on fuel. Fuel economy is 17/23, which is terrible for a relatively light 4 cylinder car.

The newer models don't look the best to me. They are still nice, but I prefer the looks of the late 90's and even early 2000's models.

It looks okay for a 4 door sedan. I would much prefer to get a G37x over this: classier, more powerful, faster, nicer interior, more reliable, better resale, better insurance rates, better fuel economy (18/25) and not as juvenile looking.

I'm the other way. I always felt the older models looked...I don't know what the word is. Awkward in a sense.

Oh another thing, one thing I hate about the STI is it's totally outclassed by most performance road cars. Look at it's Lightning Lap track time against the Genesis, V6 Camaro and V6 Mustang. Disgraceful.

People buy the STI think they're so fast, but it's crap on the road. It's a rally car, period. And how many people who buy STIs actually participate in rally? I don't get people's fascination with the STI - I suppose it's the same as how people are so obsessed with SUVs and pickups even though they don't use them for what they're good for.

Oh and the exhaust note sounds like shit. No matter what exhaust you put on it, a 4 cylinder will sound like a 4 cylinder.

BC some people are not blind brand loyalists that think there car is gods gift to the automotive world? hahaha sorry had to throw a jab in there.

Why bc some people are fortunate enough to have the Camaro as a toy, or weekend car. And the WRX as a DD. Its a good looking car for a sedan, offers fun factor so its not boring, so thats probably why people have both.

You might want to reconsider the "more powerful, faster" part of your post. The picture of the WRX that camaro-dreamer posted is the WRX STI S206. That car would have a G37 for lunch and 370Z for desert, Unfortunately that car is only for Japan.
