Unfortunately, I can not even begin to express how I feel about this situation because I would get banned. Needless to say I think we are all unhappy with how and what they are going to do.

Just wanted to make sure everyone knows what the latest news is, and what it means.

Getting banned, not so much..... If I said what I was thinking I would likely be getting a visit from..... not nice people

I listed what i own in an earlier post. I could buy a lot of ammo for my M1 Carbine and just shoot that. I don't like firing my Garand for long periods as it tends to get heavy when standing with it, and the kick hurts after a 100 rounds.
If you can find one, afford it and want it, then I would get it. It is a good gun, and it would suck if you missed out on the platform.

We appreciate the update. If I said what I wanted I would get banned and have black SUV's at my house, so I will remain quiet on the forum.

Thank you for refraining from "going there"...This thread has been wonderful for 145 pages. I'd love for it to stay that way. And maybe even be an example of how these conversations SHOULD be able to go: sans emotionally-charged political topics.

By the way...*this guy* = not happy, either. Even though I don't subscribe to some of the more extreme predictions; last night I let every elected official in my State and district know how I felt, and what I wanted them to do. I humbly suggest you all do the same.

I'm hoping for the best, but I really expect the worst..... Todays news shows what we're dealing with.

For what it's worth...I've lived in NY all my life, 20-some years, and after the Federal ban was lifted - our state passed a carbon-copy of that law...minus the expiration date.

So I've never known a low-restriction environment. That said - under the current provisions I was able to buy what I wanted this year: a DPMS LR.308 18" rifle. Love it!

Currently, our governor (who actually seems to be doing most everything right so far...) has proposed more legislation. Most of his vague proposals targeted the types of bad PEOPLE that were getting these things. I have to say I agree with that...so I only really took issue with one thing, because it's a matter of "how much worse can it really get", here...

I won't mention it, to prevent this from getting to deep into politics...but I did point it out in my communications with elected officials. Hopefully the message gets across. I have hope it will...of course, I fear it won't...

At the end of the day...I drive my car to take my mind off of things.

Rather than let them chip away at the 2nd amendment, they need to be reminded what the 2nd amendment REALLY means.
