I couldn't find my pistol anywhere and neither could anyone else as its a hard conceal carry to keep in stock. I purchased it and had it drop shipped to the closest range near my house. Ordered it last Monday got it last Thursday

Word of mouth they usually have what you want.

Here's the problem..... The pacifists are upset, just as we are..... They're calling their congressmen just like we are.

Congressmen may concede certain points. We just don't know.

What will the pacifists get? All our guns? NO.
..... 'Assault' weapons? Doubtful.
..... Hi-cap mags? I hope not.
..... Ammo? no ..... Steel cores?..... Incindiaries? hmmmm

I have a feeling the first thing they will go after is the hi-cap mags. The only reason I say that, is that it will appeal to the anti-gun folks, while pissing off the pro-gun folks the least.

With the lack of hi-cap mags, we can still shoot, still own the rifle we want, and still get ammo. We just have to reload more often. If they go after the gun and the ammo, it will piss us off the most.

There Will most likely be the meeting point that everybody will have to agree to. Most likely it will piss off the pro-gun people and piss off the anti-gun people. What the medium will be no one knows as of yet.

Trust me, I've checked there. They have the pistol I want, but not the rifle

Most likely Hi cap mags are going to get the axe. Which doesn't really affect me, but some of the more serious gun enthusiasts will burst in flames the moment it happens.

Here in California you can't have high-capacity magazines so I won't be affected by it. Only people who can have high-capacity magazines are law-enforcement.

I know. I am fully aware of what you can do to obtain them here in Cali. There's a gun store not far from here that sells 30 round bodies. Then all you have to do is buy the rebuild kits for them. I just choose not to even mess with it because you have to be very careful with which bodies you get. If those bodies were not made prior to the ban you can get into a lot of trouble. I just choose to avoid it and not even risk getting into trouble.

Also some ranges won't even let you use anything but 10 rounds.

I wish they were legal. I just have a ton of 10 rounders on hand instead.

There's a slight loophole in that law too. It's written to say that you can't buy or sell hi-cap magazines in Cali, nor can you bring them in to the state. It does not say however, that you cannot own them. They sell rebuild kits that you can purchase to make your own, and they do ship to Cali.

It's a little dicey because the law says you cannot manufacture or cause to be manufactured. Rebuilding it though, is not manufacturing or causing manufacture, because you did not make the pieces. It's also important to note that if you had one prior to 2000, that you are still allowed to legally have it. Mags are not normally serialized as well, so it's almost impossible to prove you did not have it. It also does not say anywhere in the law that you can not use it.

"12020. (a) Any person in this state who does any of the following
is punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year
or in the state prison:

(2) Commencing January 1, 2000, manufactures or causes to be
manufactured, imports into the state, keeps for sale, or offers or
exposes for sale, or who gives, or lends, any large-capacity
magazine.

...
(c) (25) As used in this section, "large-capacity magazine" means any
ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than 10
rounds, but shall not be construed to include any of the following:
(A) A feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it
cannot accommodate more than 10 rounds.
(B) A .22 caliber tube ammunition feeding device.
(C) A tubular magazine that is contained in a lever-action
firearm."

Haha sorry, I had to ninja edit I don't know that I would bother with the trouble that might ensue for using them, but I do have them. It's irritating at the range, since you cannot pre-load your magazine before you travel with it, so you spend a lot of time there reloading the tiny little 10-rounder.

Man...every time you guys in Cali start talking, it just makes me proud to be a Texan.

It's a beautiful state, but they just make it so hard to live there.

I love shooting my 30 round magazines. 10 are okay but too much load time when prairie dogs are running wild in front of you.
