Yeah it sucks. I got popped for doing 98 in a 55 five hours after buying my 2SS. The trooper took mercy on me and dropped it to keep me from getting hit with reckless conduct so I only got a ticket for doing 78.

Got pulled over another time but only received a warning. Dude said he clocked me running 64 in a 50.

As surprising as it may seem cops have been very cool to some of us.

Lucky!

If it was me I would have gotten a ticket. Seems every time I take the Camaro out there are nothing but police around, never fails!

man I had been let go more times than I can count years ago in my Z28's. Funny now that I have the SS I drive it slower than my little beater 4cyl Tracer! Of course I am still in the break in period LOL. Truth is the HUD and my knowledge that this car attacts attention help keep me grounded.

All in all it's true though. Most of the cops I have delt with have been pretty fair or even downright cool in letting me off or reducing the charge.

I'm looking forward to joining an autocross club so I can drive the car without being paranoid all the time!

So far I've been lucky, but then again, I drive slower than my mom. My daily commute is restricted to 35 mph.

Hammering it on an on-ramp is probably the best place to do this. Speed limits on the ramps are the same as they are on the freeways.
Let her fly..up to the posted speed limit.

Not necessarily, have you ever seen the little signs on those ramps that have curves that the ramp speed is 30 MPH or in some cases lower?
letting her fly up to the speed limit can also get a ticket for unessacery exibition of speed.
But everyone does it ocassionally. if you get stopped for it just don't argue with the cop..

In Ca, those signs are yellow and are advisory in nature. LEO's can't enforce a posted speed on a yellow sign.
Exhibition of speed laws in Ca require racing another vehicle or performing in front of spectators. Just rapidly accelerating is not exhibition of speed in Ca. It's a fine line though, don't do a 60' burnout while accelerating up the ramp. Don't take a curve at 60 if the advisory speed is 30.
That could be considered reckless.

I have to agree if your going to stomp it do it on an on ramp, I suspect I will end up having a conversation with a Leo about this at one point but Man is it fun.
