hello everyone new owner

Hello everyone, I am a new proud owner of a 2011 2ss iom camaro. I have been reading off this site since 2011 but never felt worthy enough to comment or make a user name until I actually owned a camaro. You guys are awesome and my wife thinks I am crazy for reading camaro forums every day. I have bought a used car and I already need to service it.it grinds if I change from first to second too fast. I have read that this is a common problem so hopefully my warrenty will fix this. My camaro came with ram tuned induction, some type of loud exhaust system, and a short Hurst shifter. I really hope none of that will void my warranty, especially since I bought it from the dealer just like that (a week ago). Other than that annoying grind that makes me look like a bad driver, permagrin has not stopped.

Welcome! Post some pics! Yes second gear has been an ongoing issue. There are several remedies to fix it that you can search here on the forum. I had a flush of the brake/clutch fluid and that fixed my issues.

Congrats on the ride. But I'm surprised to be the first one to say this: search for hurst shifter issues here in the fourm. They can cause the grind you hear to worsen or happen more frequently.

Dude! I passed this car multiples timer per week and was always looking at it. It looked so bad ass on the lot. Good luck with it!

On a side note, I almost stopped in the get a closer look at the car. It was the flat black spoiler and exhaust that caught my eye initially.

Nice! Looks like they swapped in a new rear diffuser too.

If you bought the car from them then they will most likely work on it under warranty. Usually if they would void someones warranty over something then they wouldn't take it in trade either.

My guess is it has little to do with the actual shifter and more to do with the transmission. Is the shifter sloppy at all? I know when I put mine into a gear there is almost no movement from side to side yet I've been in others where they are not as tight. If the bottom screws that mount the shifter have come loose it might cause it to bind but my guess is maybe synchos have issues.
