That doesn't ease the disappointment of those that wanted an SS at a much lower price point. |

Look at the prices of Charger SRT8's and 300 SRT8's, some of them are up around 60k.

Which is why I still wish a cheaper LFX-powered model would be made available.

At this point it is all conjecture. We don't know what the price tag will be or what it will be packing under the hood but I expect it to come in over the top of the SRT8s in every measure, including a higher price.

We all hope that GM does find a way to bring the SS in at a lower than expected price point. Hoping and $2.50 get me a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
We do know what Holden charges for the Commodore in AU as pricing is readily available. We know what the exchange rate is. Holden Barina (Chevrolet Sonic) pricing is close to the US pricing. A Holden Barlina (Commodore 4 DR) Starts at $37,900 with a 3.0. Getting a SS to the USA under $45K will require creative thinking and accounting. |

Just throwing this out there, I wonder why GM didn't just create a Chevy version of the CTSV and sell it as the SS. They did the opposite with the Corvette a few years ago by making it a XLR..

So they can take a 60k Chevy and upgrade it to an 80k Cadillac but thay can't take a 65k Cadillac and downgrade it to a 45k Chevy.
It don't seem fair....

![]() The SS would be the only car I give up my Camaro for and with my first son on the way in a week he'll be getting put in the back of the Camaro or GTO. (The girlfriend has a Hyundai 4dr ) but I was really hoping Chevy would come through with a nice 4dr RWD V8 car thats affordable. If I'm dropping $40k+ on a vehicle, it's going to be a 1LE or a ZL-1.

I say if the car is priced around 38 to 42 k thats not that bad considering that the SRT8 charger is 45k and then some but u can get a super bee for abouts 41ish. I just hope they dont make near the 50k price point. Cause then why would get a new SS when u can get a lightly used CTS V four door for around the same price and more performace.

I'm not too concerned over the price of the car in Australia, I thought that had to do with taxes over there more than anything else. I think Chevrolet will follow their typical pricing scheme, which will make the lower end model faster but right around the comparable Charger R/T model. Look at the price of the Charger R/T plus model at $32k or the road and track model at $34k. I don't think they would bother bringing the car to only compete with the SRT8 charger, I don't think it would be worth it.
