Still seriously thinking about doing this. However, the department vacation calendar has not circulated yet. It's over a month late!

I have to share vacation time with 26 other people, and only two of us can be on vacation each week. WCOFF is during "prime time".

Seriously?
Indy!?...Again!?!!!

Jeeze... by the time this thing gets anywhere near us, we'll be driving 6th gens! Okay... I understand that they'll never please everybody, but they could have at least moved it a few miles to give some new people a chance. C'mon...the same place!? Tell me there is no place available in a more central location. They don't seem to realize that this thing has a limited shelf life. They should have moved it to give more people around the country a chance to experience it before the clock runs out, and the 5th gen is yesterday's model. Or even worse, roadkill on the path to the environmentalist utopia, where we all drive government mandated versions of the "smart" car.

Enough said.

WCOFF is already in place and established. (I won't say "shovel ready")
We need to get the word out to all the disenfranchised Westerners, that this is our fest! (And we actually picked a new location for next year!) So if you haven't already- LOOK INTO IT! Tell all your Camaro friends to come along. And tell everybody else they can have the flat, straight expanse of Indianapolis. We've got ocean, mountains, and TWISTYS! The Wild West- where a Camaro can be a Camaro!

Good morning. Well some of us are happy about the Fest. Sorry if some are dissappointed. BTW, My Ruby does not have a shelf life! Some of us plan to keep our babys & just keep on celebrating them. Maybe by the time 6th gen is out I will want one of those too! The new Vette does not sound like it will be too wimpy & for the purist, they can hang on to the last generation Vettes too. They are already planning the next Fest and I get the impression there are a number of reasons this year ended up being in the same place that we will likely not ever fully understand. It is complicated. Anyway, Don't Worry, Be Happy. After all it is
Hump Day!!!!!!

Happy Hump day to you, too, Jan!

I don't think it's all that complicated, Jan - I think some of the organizers just have a weak grasp of geography - I read more than one post calling Indy a "central location" - the US goes from approximately 70 degrees longitude to 125 degrees longitude, Indy is at roughly 85 degrees... That ain't central to ANYONE west of the Rockies...

But, as Gary so eloquently pointed out, WCOFF has twisties... who needs CFest when we got twisties???

My Camaro doesn't have a shelf-life either, but my interest in attending CFest sure does when the organizers make it unworkable for me....who knows maybe I'll just pack up my toys and go elsewhere and organize an event for people in the western states who want to gather with other Camaro enthusiasts, have fun and hang out and cruise and create new memories in a location that is a more user-friendly for us "Westies"..... Oh wait! We already did that!!!

Indy in August = 90 degree temps and 95% humidity and mosquitos the size of what? Pidgeons? No thanks, not worth the time and expense of an almost 4k mile road trip for me.

WCOFF II in June = US 1 from the San Franciso Bay Area to Coastal Oregon, Big Trees, Coastal Cruising, Mountains, Beach, Wine Country and TWISTIES!!! YAYYYY!

Mornin' Rick, the easy answer is the winning Powerball Numbers for tonight's drawing for an estimated jackpot of $500MM.

I'm glad I slid to AZ last Saturday to get my tickets! Wooohooo
