The Lions coach Jim Schwartz can not blame the players on their lost. It was Jim Schwartz that lost the game by throwing a illegal challenge flag.
It was a good game this time.
This was about has bad call as the Green Bay and Seattle game.

not being able to review the play because he threw the challenge flag has to be the stupidest rule I've ever heard, that one neeeds to get changed ...quick!!

I'll think they will change it but it will not be after the season is over. It did not make since they was going to review it any way. It might be ok if they just took the challenge away but still do the review.

About as bad? No, that was far worse. You can't argue in this case that the knee wasn't down. It was OBVIOUSLY down. As much as people want to rip on the Tate TD miscall, at least there was doubt initially and even after review there easily was an argument to be made of the simultaneous catch (not the push in the back, of course).

Weird rule about not being able to allow the automatic challenge on a TD because of an illegally thrown challenge flag though. I'm guessing that rule may change.

Espn just announced that they are going to look into that rule. Hopefully it changed. The next time when one of your players has he elbow and knee down with the ball and scores a touch down they can throw all the flags they want but it still going to be reviewed preventing a touch down.

A league official already stated they'll look into making it just a 15yd penalty but still reviewable, which is the way it should've been all along.
