STI Shadow, 1911. Small enough to carry and will certainly get the job done.

The only place I carry is on my own property. I usually walk around the house with my G23 in a serpa holster. Not that I'm paranoid or anything. But better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Crime has been skyrocketing where I live. My neighbors were robbed a few months ago. Not taking any chances.
i carry on my property as well but be careful in good ol CA you cant shoot just anyone on your property. They have to have a gun, if they do not it you that is going to jail... in this state you have to remember that the laws are there to protect the criminals.

You may be completely justified in shooting the person, but you will still have to hire an attorney for the Grand Jury presentation. Every shooting goes before one. Second, if you don't kill the person I can almost completely gaurantee you that you will be sued by them in civil court for damages. If you do kill them, someone in their family will sue you for damages. If you live where Castle Doctrine applies, you most likely will win the lawsuit, but only after ten's of thousands of dollars in legal bills. NOT WORTH IT. Finally, after you shoot someone you will need to get therapy. Police departments require it for a reason. I have already decided possessions are not worth a life, that is why I have insurance.

HOWEVER, if someone threatens my life or the life of my family I will fight back. That is not something that you can get back. If my kids are in the back of the Camaro there is no way they are being driven off with a car jacker. That is my line in the sand.

A gun is a strong tool in self defense, but it is the last line of defense and should only be used when you are in immediate danger. I would suggest to everyone that carries a gun to find a local IDPA club and start shooting with them. Learning how to use your gun in a defensive way is paramount to your safety and most importantly the safety of those around you. Adrenaline clouds your judgement, so shooting with IDPA helps you feel how it affects you.

Sorry for my soap box, but deciding to carry a gun moves you to a new standard in my book. That of a Sheep Hearder, and not a sheep. You have to train, learn and decide in advance when you are willing to take a life if necessary.

This is a 10 minute read, but nobody should carry a gun if they don't read this:

I remove the laser/light to carry but mount it at home.

Since buying my AR pistol, I throw it in the back seat floorboard on long drives.
8" barrel AR pistol with 100 round mag imagine the look s if I ever have to pull that out :/

(That's 16" tile it's on)

I survived C5F3!!!

Cool

I Just Got My CCP About A Month Ago. It Was A Lot To Go Through! There Has Been About 19 Thousand New Applications In Lousiana Alone This Year. I Carry, Not Scared Just Aware! Of What's Going On Around Me. It Is Not For Everyone. It Is For Personal And Love Ones Protection. There Is No Dought That If I Pull It Out That I Will Use It To Protect!!

Why not carry all the time? If you don't carry all the time then you have to guess what day and place something bad might happen and if you can do that with any accuracy, then you don;t need to carry at all... just don't go anywhere on those days that something bad will happen.
