ITZ COOL
|
Just traded in a 2012 1LT with 3300 miles on it for 22,000, MSRP of 29,875. I traded it for a 2012 2SS/RS for 31,261 with 4500 miles on it. I think an offer of 14 for 2010 model with 40k on it is fair. With enough of these cars on the market, not many people looking for a camaro with 40k miles on it. It is too easy to find one with low mileage. Don't trade in and go new, trade in for a nice used one.

yup, mileage driving your asking price down. As mentioned, consider trading it in for a used v8. Alot easier to trade it in vs private seller, imo(time = $)..
..should just fix the car to your liking, you'd be surprised how it turns out. Last edited by 2010SLVRBULIT; 02-15-2013 at 09:09 AM. |

If you want to know what your car is worth, look here:
http://www.galves.com/ This is what (many) dealers use as well as their own experience. KBB is just a guess and is almost always based on what you want to hear rather than what a used car is truly worth. Sell it yourself and be happy with $16,000. Or just be happy with it. It is still a very cool car. This is the smartest option.

Nothing wrong with keeping the car and dropping a LS7 into it after after 5-7 years of saving money up. Especially if the car is not a special edition.

Did you ever figure out how much depreciation is costing you per mile and/or per year to keep your car mint for someone else ? Sorry, but drive and enjoy imo.

The dealers are always going to screw you on a trade in. They are going to give you the lowest possible price so they can turn around and sell it what it normally costs so they can make a profit. Trade in is a last resort. If you cant find anyone to buy it off of you privately, then you trade in.

Trust me I searched, I have a friend at a ford dealer who said real money on the car i bought was 15,500-16,000 in black book. I couldn't find a single ss under 25,000. The nice ones were around 30k like yours. But who walks in and pays asking price anyways.

I was offerend only 19,000 at one dealership for my '12 last year, 2LT.
14,5 for a 2010 LS is not a bad trade in with 40k miles at all. |
