Though stop is painted on the road and they said it was a private road. I'd think an actual stop sign (with a "look for airplane traffic") would probably be helpful there. Stop painted on the road isn't obvious to many drivers...

Glad no one was hurt.

edit: Just read the driver of the SUV is a regular of that road. Sigh. I could see someone unfamiliar with the road doing that, but...c'mon lady...

I wouldn't say plane "nerd" because planes aren't nerdy, just like cars aren't, but I love aviation. I fly a Beechcraft Bonanza, I would fly commercial, but since I am type 1 diabetic I cannot.

Went to the hanger at Vintage Wings of Canada Saturday morning for the AGM. While waiting for the meeting to get started I snapped a few pics of the winter work getting underway on several of the aircraft as well as the ongoing restoration of the Hurricane Mk XII and Spitfire Mk IX.

The Harvard's engine has been sent out for overhaul.

The Tiger Moth's engine has been sent out for overhaul.

The Swordfish parts will come in: new valve seats, new valve springs, new valves, new pistons, (and our friends at Standard Aero in Winnipeg have retooled the cylinders).

The left cylinder bank is off the Mk IV Hurricane.

The incredible Hurricane Mk IX rebuild.

The restored Hurricane Mk IX wings waiting to be mounted.

The new wings being built for the Spitfire Mk IX.

Airshow Disaster. Aircraft Hit 4 buildings.

This is tough to watch. It just shows the dangers of attending these events.
Amazing photo below shows great detail.
The pilot at low level had no control over his aircraft.
It narrowly misses a crowd gathered for the air show and slams into four buildings.
One can only imagine the horror of the occupants inside those buildings.
