It is an addiction. My consol is usually coffee soaked, I'm always trying to get a shift in between sips, I could leave it in sport mode but that's no fun.

What I can't understand is why hasn't he FDA banned these already or at least put a age restriction on them.

It's been known for years that Guarana and a couple other of the main ingredients in energy drinks destroy both the liver and kidneys. No matter what, you will have life long liver and kidney damage and if continually used, will eventually require a transplant.

Performance Nutrition often has baggies of samples to try, they always give me a few so I've tried many. Can't turn down freebies LOL

Also heart arrhythmia is not caused by caffeine in normal amounts. However excessive amounts at one time can cause death just like any drug.

Also there are other reasons that the arrhythmia occurred, such as not drinking enough water over days at a time.

Common sense at its finest.......

Can we please just let Darwinism run its course? jeesh. Common sense is a freaking commodity these days.
Some people don't know everything has it's "limitations". I know Monster going to get sued for sure.

These people wont get a single dime. Monsters highly paid lawyers will make sure of it. They will flood this woman with so much crap that she cant handle it.

Also, there are clear as day warnings and nutritional facts on the cans.

Ignorance for not knowing is one thing. Ignorance for not reading what is clearly labeled is completely different and should not be rewarded by monetary value.

Excuse me, but please show me such study that specifically links Guarana to liver or kidney damage.

Guarana is just caffeine. It is only a more potent form of caffeine.

I'm sure if it's all over the news and web some backlash will lead to more direct actions from Monster in the future to it's customers. People don't read labels or nutrition facts unless their trying to diet or eat healthy. How many percent actually do read?

The FDA does not regulate supplements, most products of this type state that the FDA has not evaluated their claims . That is why you see outrageous claims by supplement companies and they get away withn it.

I've never used energy drinks (haven't taken in more caffeine than what's found in a can of Dr. Pepper). I used to drink multiple cans of Dr. Pepper daily, but quit back in May (followed by about 6 days worth of headache from caffeine withdrawal). Since then, I haven't had any more caffeine than what's found in a glass of weakly brewed iced tea (I don't drink coffee or anything carbonated, beer included).

Caffeine is the most used/abused drug in America.

Pretty much this. However the FDA will evaluate some for illegal substances. But it takes forever for this to happen.
