Sorry that your experience with GM has sucked. I have never had a GM car leave me stranded or be a shop queen, so I feel pretty bad for your experiences. I have had a couple of Jeeps now and I kind of wish they were not Chrysler products. Our Commander had to be towed out of my garage three times...junk. Our current Wrangler Unlimited has issues but we still love the damned thing.

You are another example on the flipside, had multiple jeeps in the family and none have ever left anyone stranded even when they had better 200,000 miles on them. On the other hands I have had a few GM cars leave me in the cold literally and figuratively and the my 2000 grand Prix basically fell apart around me.
