I usually do 48-52 hours a week myself. Enough for an extra day or day and a half worth of overtime pay.

I own my own company, work half days.
You pick which 12 hours that is, and that is at a minimum.

I do 60+ hours a week, but it is not to mantain payments, I am salary doesn't matter if I work 1 hour or 100 hours same pay. I am usually here by 8:30am and out between 9:30-10:30 pm (and usually take a 2 hour lunch)

I do it because I love my job and the company I work for, my time and dedication does not go un-noticed by the owners or CEO either.. I can take a day or two off or come in late or leave early and they don't ding my sick/vacation time for it (only ding me if I schedule more than 5 days in a row)

While everyone else here does their 8 and splits (hell most of these people are out of the parking lot by 5:01pm) then b*tch when they only get a 1-2% raise, I smile and take my 18% raise all the way to the bank...

well most people averaged 1-2%, I'm a special case because when the economy crashed in 2009 my department was cut from 3 IT end support techs and me (CIO) to just me..

I do everything from DB administration and management to fixing printers and copiers (and by that I mean tearing them down and rebuilding them) to website maintenance, and phone server administration (VoIP), end user support, software training, software development, to crawling thru the attic to wall phish Cat5e and Fiberoptic cable.

I'm a true hands on manager, and I am here at all hours whenever I am needed (helps I only live 5 miles away too) 24/7..

So I am doing the job of 4 people, because my normal duties are also included in all that, and I do it, I don't complain, I just get the job done, and make sure our network has a 99.9% uptime.. If that means coming in @ 2am on a Saturday because the power failed (has happened several times), I'm here.. and they know I'm here, the alarm company is great about telling them who entered the building @ what time during "off hours"

I leave in disappointment.

I feel your pain, I get reminded in my User CP of this thread and I ALWAYS think it's about the show, but it's just about work. :( lol

Going back on topic, this took me about 12 hours, including dusting, vacuuming and that sorts. This is at my full time job at the college. Our main patch closet in our main building.

Before:

After:

Funny story, when I first started working at this college back in 2007 as a summer job, I helped setup this patch closet for the first time, this is what it looked like 5 years ago.

I tidied it up then, like I did now. Biggest difference was back then we had 4 foot patch cables running to everything and crammed in cable management panels, makes troubleshooting tedious, (looked great though!) that's why there's no more cable management panels to shove cables in, and why we replaced all the 4 foot cables with 1 foot cables. Doesn't look as nice, but is way more practical.

When I went back to work at night, I said multiple times, oh God, what have I gotten myself into! But I steamed ahead and kept working at it. Huge PITA, but it came out nice and was well overdue!
