Trust me! NO I wouldn't be amazed at all...

People are crazy and seems to be getting worse in the U.S. There is a major lack of common sense lately but a guy just doesn't jump up out of his house and decide to flag a neighbor down because his car is a little loud, no matter what the local laws.

While I wouldn't be surprised if that really is the case, there's just no telling anymore.

But regardless, no amount of anything should deserve a reaction that involves chasing someone down with your truck and trying to block their path. I'm going to go look up what conceal carry laws are like in Colorado now...

I would love to help you out and tell you everything you need to do and everything he could get charged with. But if I do that I'll probably get this thread locked and my post will be deleted anyways because mods won't let me talk on c5. Sorry bud! Just keep the police on it.

Somehow, I think that the parts left out may also have a bearing on what's going on here.

People don't randomly stand out in the street trying to flag a specific car down unless SOMETHING happened.

well i have had the car super loud for a year now, (almost to the day this guy moved in, Ive lived there for 14 years). I take the car around the block almost every Saturday. apparently he has tried to stop me before, but only drive by once so he never had the opportunity, that day I did two laps. that happened on the second. never done burnouts, donuts, speeding.... nothing just a drive, my neighbor does burnouts almost every weekend in his mustang! never even had the cops called, or pulled over. the car has be heard a full two miles away at WOT. never seen the guy before in my life!
as for the missing story, it is just the back end of it. It ends with him trying to run me and my sister over with his truck on my property and me expressing myself with my CCW. the .45 ended it quickly, had it with me the whole time, he didnt expect that. All my actions fell directly under castle doctrine (make my day law). I know all the laws he broke after the story ended i just needed to know the definitions of the stuff he did off my property, as the arresting officer did not charge him with anything before he entered. now it is being re investigated and i want to try to compile a list. his crazyness just kept escalating as i kept avoiding him.

Wow, I thought "my" theoretical neighbors were off their meds.

I have a rather loud Camaro and do my best to keep the speeds and volume down around my house. That being said, one neighbor asked me in a not so polite manner to slow down.

Being a responsible, nearly 40 y/o man, I assured him I wasn't speeding and politely drove away. Afterwards I went back to his house and we had a grown up talk, like sane people do.

Good on you for exercising restraint in the situation, if it were me in your position, my sister would have been on the phone with 911 and if they weren't there in time, the words "I was reacting out of fear for the safety of myself and my sister officer" would have been all I would have said before the cuffs went on.

There would be a few traffic law violations, but honestly you and I both know they will plea the case down to one or two charges max and that will be the end of it.
Speaking from experience, the traffic law violations will be the first to get thrown from the case vs. any criminal charges probably why the officer didn't get to excited to add them..... not knowing your state's exact traffic laws/penalties I would say reckless driving would have been the only one with teeth worth adding at all.
They may have also used the driving incident as articulation in a criminal charge such as harassment.....which would qualify here.....alarming or distressing conduct, intimidation etc also may get unlawful imprisonment for "restraining" your movements...(probably a stetch though)

Well, I wouldn't have reacted like that (trying to avoid the guy).

I would've slowed down, took it from there, and called authorities.

If I was in the position where dude was running me down, tailgating, i would have safely exited my vehicle, drew my weapon and ordered him to back away, i'm dialing 911.

It's really your word against his since nothing was recorded....unless there were witnesses, but he would probably not be charged with anything since an officer didn't see it.

AND YES THERE ARE CRAZY PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO WOULD STAND IN THE STREET FOR LITTLE OR NO REASON AT ALL....my neighbor stood in the middle of the street because I went down the road on my quad and he didn't like it....lol. Where I live it's ok as long as you are on a side street and obeying the laws.....guy was just a jacka$@

Parag, please take the "high road" on this story.

First, determine if you know deep down, that you did something to make this neighbor so angry that he wants to block your path.

If you are driving your Camaro in a residential area, please do the right thing and drive slower and slow down if you know there are kids that play in the area.

PLEASE do not drive your car like you are 15 and just got your learners permit.

(Even though most guys over 40 STILL drive like they are age 15, that doesn't mean you should do it also. I say this just in case you do drive in a reckless way.)

DON'T GO through life making enemies with your own neighbor. That is no way to live.

Your story suggests that you did do SOMETHING to make this person become enraged.

Please tell us the TRUTH and tell us WHY that neighbor is so angry.

(If your car is incredibly loud, or your rev to 9000 rpms, it is very possible that your neighbor has a right to be upset with you, especially if you wake people up.)

Normal people in society can get into their car, and drive away and not have to worry about someone angry trying to block their path.

You should just talk to the guy who blocked you. Ask him what is wrong. Visit him with the Police by your side. If you are too afraid to bring the police, then chances are you know you did something you shouldn't have done.
