Good Morning All! Happy Sunday!

And the clackin' of the guineys, and the cluckin' of the hens,
And the rooster's hallylooyer as he tiptoes on the fence;
O, it's then the time a feller is a-feelin' at his best,
With the risin' sun to greet him from a night of peaceful rest,
As he leaves the house, bareheaded, and goes out to feed the stock,
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock.

They's something kindo' harty-like about the atmusfere
When the heat of summer's over and the coolin' fall is here—
Of course we miss the flowers, and the blossoms on the trees,
And the mumble of the hummin'-birds and buzzin' of the bees;
But the air's so appetizin'; and the landscape through the haze
Of a crisp and sunny morning of the airly autumn days
Is a pictur' that no painter has the colorin' to mock—
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock.

The husky, rusty russel of the tossels of the corn,
And the raspin' of the tangled leaves as golden as the morn;
The stubble in the furries—kindo' lonesome-like, but still
A-preachin' sermuns to us of the barns they growed to fill;
The strawstack in the medder, and the reaper in the shed;
The hosses in theyr stalls below—the clover overhead!—
O, it sets my hart a-clickin' like the tickin' of a clock,
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock.

Then your apples all is gethered, and the ones a feller keeps
Is poured around the cellar-floor in red and yaller heaps;
And your cider-makin's over, and your wimmern-folks is through
With theyr mince and apple-butter, and theyr souse and sausage too!...
I don't know how to tell it—but ef such a thing could be
As the angels wantin' boardin', and they'd call around on me—
I'd want to 'commodate 'em—all the whole-indurin' flock—
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock.
Ain't that the truth Sheriff!

It's currently 72, clear and sunny. For the first time since May I've been able to fling open the windws and sliders and let the cool air in instead of out.

Good luck to everyone's teams especially mine!! Go

Jeanette, that SOB was full of sh*t. He can't give tickets on private property. (i.e. a parking lot.) Try getting in a fender bender in a parking lot - they won't come for that very reason. He was just being an ass. What PD did he belong to? If it had been me I would have said run along Barney. He was just trying to intimidate you. What a jerk!

He was a Sergeant with Everett PD. We were in a parking lot not 500 yards from the cop shop. He did point out that it was a good thing we were on private property.....
He went from nice to mean to nice to mean to nice.... But, no big deal... Nancy and I had a good laugh about it, and were kicking ourselves for not taking pictures with him!!

Welcome to our little corner of C5. I love your Camaro but I'm a bit prejudice with one in the previous metalic red shade.

I like that poem lightning. It reminds me of the old days on the farm. It was a nice but busy time. We'd kill a cow & freeze that meat, kill a hog & make sausage, then smoke it along with hams, sholders, bacon & jawl & make lard & cracklins. Granny made dried apples, canned tomatos, green beans, red & green tomato catsup, apple preserves, grape & blackberry jelly, tomato juice, pickles of several varieties, .....I'm sure I'm forgetting something. There were several varieties of dried beans & frozen vegetables of every variety. Granny also had hunderds of chickens so we always had fresh chicken & eggs. We grew watermellon, cantaloup, peanuts, popcorn, pumpkins & gords. I hardly knew how to shop for groceries when I grew up and all this gradually came to an end. Those were good times.

We had our club planning meeting today and had a fairly good group show up, 13 Camaros. We got a message this morning from one of our members currently in serving in Afghanistan just before the meeting so after the meeting we did a photographic salute to the 101st Airborne Div (Ft Campbell, Ky). A couple more of our members will be joining him there soon. Here is one of the pics & link to the thread with more. One of our other club members will have better pics than mine when he adds his to the thread. And Happy Birthday to my favorite Mechanic Karen, who will be helping me do surgery to Ruby next weekend.

Welcome back rocknRllr, you may want to pop in tomorrow night for Monday Night Music Vids right here in the OF thread.

Some people get so excited about playing their favorite tunes "on the air," that they just can't wait til the evening.

Good Monday Morning Crew. COFFEE TIME! Boy are the backs of my legs sore from leaning over Ruby's engine bay Saturday cleaning her mainfold in prep for next weekend's mods. Have a good week everyone. Here is something different to get stuck "in your head" today.
