It's a combination of uneducated people, rude "guests", etc. Oh boy do I have some stories too. I go out to eat less since working in the industry for so long.

Worked in the restaurant industry for 12 years. Took 4 years off and went back this summer. I made half my yearly income in 4 1/2 months just working weekends.

Yeah if you work in a nice restaurant, you sure can make decent money. The weekends help too, when it gets really busy.

I believe it! It's easy to make some money in restaurants. My average $/hr from tips usually averaged to $25/hr while working for corporate chains.
