I had a Trailblazer SS give me a run for my money at the track once, granted it wasn't exactly my best run and it was when I first started going to the track. Either way they are pretty impressive if you ask me.

this hits the nail on the head.

Also....which vette had the ls2?

The 2005-2007 Corvette Coupes had the LS2 pushing 400 HP. They swapped up to the LS3 in 2008 bumping up to 430 HP

You were expecting a supercharger???

Throw some fuel rail covers on it, and it will look the same.

You were expecting a supercharger? That sure would help. I hasd an SS Trailblazer. It was no speed demon by any means ,but it was around a very nice vehicle.

hahaha not a supercharger but what Never Satisfied mentioned is exactly my reaction - the homely intake manifold used on the TBSS throws it off

I knew you guys would pick up on that lol

you got me

I believe this is the mutant off spring of an LS2 intake manifold you are referring too. I wouldn't put it on anything I'm building but they work great for the truck crowd!

I'd stick that on my T/A just to see the reaction of people when I pop the hood.

Seriously though.. that Dark Cherry Metallic or whatever with a Black interior and AWD; my dream daily. Already have a 13mpg daily with an LS1. :/

Best 0-60 I could ever manage in mine (it is stock down to paper air filter) was 5.8 seconds (have youtube proof for those interested). Not too bad for a giant brick with a really crappy transmission (that you are in fear of it grenading itself when driven). Have been able to surprise a lot of cars with it though. Pretty underrated sleeper...at 14 MPG running on premium lol

I must say, even with summer performance Yokohama tires, the AWD does great on snow/ice.

Both SS's in the garage:

He opens the hood and there's a huge plastic cover....ok.

Are the engines on our cars or any GM car much different these days? Other than the Corvette, it seems like GM's solution to all their engines these days is... cover them up. My buddies CTS-V is a great example of this. The whole engine compartment is nothing but plastic covers everywhere. I don't know about anyone else, but I would prefer to see more of the engine. If GM at least incorporated the intake runners between the cover like they do on the Corvette I would be happier. Ford even does something similar on the new 5 liter.

Its the "in" thing to do these days is cover your engine bay with plastic, all manufactures do it. My friends BMW, you have to spend at least 5 minutes taking off plastic parts before you can see the engine bay at all. IMO its just even more disconnect between non-car people and their cars these days.
