Haha, not going to lie, have no FIng idea what you just said but I think I'll try the router first!!

Yeah, I have a 2./5.0ghz dual band.... mine runs in the low 30's down and just over 10 up BUT...... the distance between my unit and my router limits me to only having a strong enough signal to use the 2.4 ghz most of the time.

Guess you need to hang out with TFord or your LAN tech at work more often...... those numbers mean how fast your computer/ network can communicate and transfer data thru the server (I don't have a vast knowledge of it so thats the best explanation I could get in dummy language).
Comcast Cable is who I have my internet with....they have a site where you can test servers in your area and find out what your best transfer rates are. This is also good because I can tell when there are a s---load of people online in the area causing a slow connection.

Okay, well thats almost a record for last nights clan op.......guess I forgot to remind everyone or it was just a busy night. The elite server was f ' d up again, so I couldn't remember or check which hardcore match was last night.....so I played one TDM and 1/2 a kill confirmed match and got us 250 xp with 3 whole confirms . at least I didn't get pissed at the game.....ha ha.... the kc match was the worst I had all night I think at 4/5. the rest of my domination matches I had a 2.0 kd +/- a little no cursing at all.....that even impressed the wife who actually watched me play for awhile .

Reminder..............

CLAN OP THIS AFTERNOON AT 2PM EASTERN TIL 5PM EASTERN CORE KILL CONFIRMED

SUNDAYS OP IS FROM 6PM EASTERN TIL 9PM EASTERN CORE TEAM DEATHMATCH.

I am working all day...so I will miss this afternoon, but I should get in on the tail end of tomorrow nights op.

probably one of the best ways to explain all this would be to think of your router as the governor on the car, your car could have all the bells and whistles but still only go 90mph cause of the governor. so first step is raise that speed, if you still want more then start tweaking around the engine bay with some forced induction and gearing changes (internet speed)
10mbps is a decent speed, most likely your current modem/router combo doesn't handle that speed sufficiently. like silver hawk I get around 30 down on my speed. I have a Motorola cable modem with a built in router which is the best way to go since you are using less devices which means MORE POWER! lol, the fewer connections your signal had to go through the less lag or latency your going to get. I got mine at best buy for around 150 about a year ago.
I'm on my phone and can't get it to link to the site for my modem, but it is a Motorola surfboard extreme docsis 3 modem/router.
docsis 3 is kinda like the language that the router speaks, right now its the best.

like I said hawk and I have fast connections, not everyone can get/afford that and it isn't exactly necessary. 10 or 15 is plenty fast I just like faster so I can do more at once.

some great sites to check your speed, www.speedtest.net, I just went on there and got 11mbps down and 1.5mbps up on my phone not connected to wifi.

I am by no means a tech expert but I do know my way around a motherboard and can help you out if needed.

I should be on Sunday, took a trial run last night and NAT is set to moderate, so made some changes before bed to try to kill it without killing my entire firewall. Going to check on it now to see if setting the ports up opened my Xbox connection. I wish they had standard terminology for these things, preferably a tab that said "port exceptions" or something that wasn't so confusing in the new Motorola modems.

I ended up not being able to make it again as much as I wanted to. On a brighter note, all the heavy stuff is finally moved and I should be back to normal other than unpacking some stuff. See everyone online throughout the week and hopefully next weekend.
