I've been an iphone user for 4 years. Went Android a few months ago to see what they offer. Sure I miss a few things...but won't be going back. Now with this release, I'm glad that I didn't wait for it. My Samsung Note is everything this phone is and more.

Maybe if I was a hipster.

But I'm not a hipster.

So I'll stick to my Samsung Galaxy Note

We'll have to wait for testing, but the specs are definitely better than the S3 if you don't take actual size in to account.

The only increase in cost is the upgrade to LTE, which all carriers charge more for LTE vs 3G data anyway, regardless of what phone you use. I don't see the point of that argument either.

hmm lets see, my GS3 isa 32gb with a 64GB SD chip, so 96GB for me = win over iphone

I have 8mp camera = same as iphone

Display is 306ppi vs iphone 326ppi = win for iphone But doesn't really matter unless you are watching movies on the phone, and most people don't, they connect to a big screen so it becomes moot.

S3 has Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 vs. Iphone Quad-core ARM Cortex-A15 = both are Samsung Architecture, but the Cortex-A15 is likely to be a hair faster, though most people won't be able to tell the difference without some type of benchmark to compare, seeing as the A5x is a down clocked Cortex-A9 (only 1.0GHz in the ipad vs, the 1.4GHz in the S3) I suspect the Cortex-A15 will also be downclocked so in reality it will probably benchmark close to the S3 in most catagories.

---

for all intent and purpose the S3 and the Iphone 5 are about equal, however the S3 has Flash and bigger screen going for it, and the iphone has universal connectivity going for it.

Android phones are a PITA to connect to car stereos or most boom boxes or tv's or whatever without a host of special adaptors which are all different for every phone/phone manufacturer.

I own and S3, had it since pre-release in late June, one of the best phones I have owned, but a little disappointed that I cannot display song data on my HUD or Radio screen in the Camaro via bluetooth, but my 4 year old ipod touch 2nd gen can..

Will I be getting the Iphone 5.. probably not.. I liek my S3, but for all those iphone fanboys that want to put the S3 down..

the internals of the iphone are made by Samsung, so crapping on the S3 is crapping on the iphone.. just sayin..

oh and for the comment about the iphone being thinner.. it's .5mm thinner, who the hell can tell the difference in a 1/2 mm? seriously does that even matter?

iPhone 5.... Yawn. Clearly a phone that's half of a Galaxy S3. Nothing innovative about the thing. Color me disappointed, when Jobs died it seems that his vision died with him. I own an an original iPhone, 3GS, 4, 4S, iPad's 1 and 2 and a Mac. I love Apple products but this is pathetic. Seems like they prefer litigation to innovation now.

My upgrade eligibility always opens up 1 year after the new iPhones are released so I always end up with the S version. iPhone5S will be in my pocket next year.

Wrong. The international S3 has a quad core. The USA version is only dual core.

Flash is overrated and outdated, especially on a phone. Even Adobe has abandoned mobile Flash.

What other "innovative" things would you want from a phone? It has the latest LTE, wifi, and Bluetooth support. NFC is not warranted since its barely catching on. The screen has incredible quality and the size is up to personal preference. You won't see any "innovative" phones until the next major wireless network standard comes around. Some may have features that others don't have, but there's nothing truly innovative out right now.

That happened to me for the first three models then I broke down and bought the iPhone 4 and 4S and got screwed even if I wanted the 5!

regardless of whether it is outdated, it is still on 10s of thousands of sites and they cannot be viewed on an iphone..

I'm not putting down the iphone, I like that it has universal connectivity, I own an ipad and a mac-book pro even though I make my living in a 100% Microsoft server environment..

But like most Apple stuff, it is nothing more than a big build up to a product that will be dated the moment it hits the shelves.. I mean seriously LTE has been out for nearly 2 years and Apple is just now entering the LTE market?

The design of the device is dated, the O/S is dated, there is nothing new or WOW about it, just another over priced phone, same as the S3 and Motorola whatevers..

I have owned the iPhone 3 and currently own an iPhone 4. I was hoping with this phone they'd innovate again, but they didn't. I will be skipping out on this device and looking at android phones when my upgrade comes. The phone is dated as others have said and I am not impressed by anything it offers. I am eligible for an upgrade, but have no interest in getting a new phone since mine is plenty fast, does what I want, works in my business environment, and I have plenty of fun things I can do with a jailbreak. The tech and IT guy in me says to upgrade, but it just really isn't worth it. I have a windows laptop, linux desktop and windows desktop, android tablet (Asus Infinity Transformer), and an apple cell phone so I am not biased.

I -may- get the iPhone this year.

I have an Android and love it. Droid 2. I have sworn by having a slide out keyboard on my phone for years for easier typing. iPhone has never come with that.

I have had an iPad for almost 2 years now, and a Mac so I can work on developing iPad/iPhone apps. So, if I did move to iPhone...it would be for this reason alone.

I like the Android interface far more than Mac, which is why I'm not certain if I really even need an iPhone.

Wifey has waited for three months to get the iPhone 5 and switch from T-mobile to Verizon... I am an Android fanatic and couldnt be more pleased with the Galaxy S III. I will have to wait till she get it and compare the two.
