I was working the midnight shift when I just got home and was waiting to head on down to the bank to deposit a check when my TV got snowy for a moment, and then the news cut over to the towers and we all know what happened from there.

My old company had 2 floors in the South Tower. I don't report to my office but did happen to go there around 2am that morning to pick up an expense check I had waiting for me in my interoffice mail box.
I still have my South Tower building badge. I'll probably keep it forever

I think we all have to deal with 9/11 in our own way. I was at work and in shock, as it looked way too much like the Oklahoma city bombing. I went to my church that night. My son joined the army because of that day. Still unbelievable.:(

I was getting ready for School turned on the TV to watch morning shows and the TV just happened to be on CNN most likely my dad watching stocks or something before i got up within seconds of me turning TV on the second tower got hit. Had no idea what was going on but all i could think of is why. But from that day forward I had a new respect for this country and everyone that has been or is in the military.

I was in 9th grade; I had just walked in and sat down in trigonometry class when the 2nd tower was hit. It was probably the first time I realized our country was vulnerable and not as secure (read: invincible) as I had always thought.

I was sitting in my agriculture class in 10th grade. The teacher used to make us watch the news for the first 20 minutes of class so we could talk about current events. When we came in and set down the first one had just been hit and then we watched the second one. A lot of parents pulled their kids out of school that day, I stayed. When I got home Dad had made sure to tape all of the coverage from that day on VHS. One day I'll probably watch it again.

Prayers even 11 years later for those who lost a loved one, or those who lost their lives trying to save others.

I was at work, on the second floor of the south end of the Maintance building waiting for the elevator....there is a small lounge there with a TV that is tuned into CNN at all times. I stood there stunned for a while.

I will never forget that day. I was at work when my boss came into the office saying a plane had hit the trade center. So we turned on the news just in time to see the second plane hit live. A few min later we were in the conference room for our normal team meeting but we just sat there watching the coverage. I remember when the first tower fell and the guys in the meeting room said "where is all that smoke coming from" and immediately I knew the tower had fell. I kept saying it and they didn't believe it. The view we had on tv was towards the tower still standing so you couldn't see the tower behind collapse. After we realized this two of my coworkers threw up and one passed out. Turned out his father was in tower 1 and lost his life. Very sad. Prayers for all the families.

I was at school. As I was raised in Oklahoma, I remember the OKC bombing very well as well.

Regarding 9/11, We would watch news every so often in Geography class. The classroom was dead silent. Eventually, the principal asked all teachers to turn off the news and at least try to resume classes.

I was just waking up in my dorm room (first semester of college) and my dad called my cell phone (which he never did, so I knew something was up) and he told me to switch on the news.

I will never forget that absolutely horrified feeling I had in my stomach. Classes were cancelled and we were told to stay in our dorms for the remainder of the day just in case.

I had the day off. I was having coffee and reading the paper when my mom called and said "Are you watching TV?" I said "I haven't talked to you in 6 months, and you call to ask if I'm watching TV?" She said "Just turn on th TV" and hung up. I watched and cried for a while, called my aunt to make sure my cousin was OK (he's an assistant DA in Manhattan), watched TV some more, then had to turn it off because it was so emotionally draining.

Never forget....

I was sitting in the training room at the Fire Dept. having training on hi-rise operations for our city. One of the District Chiefs for the Dept came into the room and advised us of the situation. He then ordered other closer companies to report to headquarters and prepare for USAR deployment. I was deployed 4 days later into NY City... What a horrific sight and I must say there are still times when I close my eyes and immediately see/feel that day. I still get very sad and pissed at the same time. RIP ALL heroes of that day! Never forget.........
