Sure thing!

You can move at your own pace, you don't have to do it all in one sitting, and you'll learn a couple of things too! The only down side is that you have to go to a test site to take the final exam, but you'll have several spots to choose from in your area, like a library or something. IMO, it was a small price to pay to avoid spending 8 hours (probably on a Saturday) in a room full of people.

Good luck!

I know rolling through a stop sign in Houston, TX is a $175 ticket at least it was 2 years ago. I bet speeding is probably a worse fine and then "X" amount of $$$'s over a certain speed above the speed limit. Here they can write a ticket for 1(ONE) mph over the speed limit. Instead of raising taxes they go after the sin taxes and traffic tickets to fund the city coffers. Beer or Alcohol, Cigarettes, and driving violations. If CA is successful in banning Cigarettes guess who is going to make up the lost tax revenue, same in NY.

I figured it would be around 300 Im lookin at about $500 when its all said and done. I dont know about other states but ca is getting ridiculous with there fines!:upset:
Congrats dave!!This is only the beginning!LOL.. I got 2 speeding tickets on my first 2 weeks after I moved from East Coast/Midwest. First is 59 on 45 and after 10 days I was clocked 49 on 35. I didn't even have my Camaro that time I was driving Mazda. I paid too much for the ticket that was around Feb and March this year. Well thats life! I feel ur pain.

did the cop pull you over? ive heard of people getting tickets because aircraft caught them speeding, also heard of speed cameras. I would assume that they send you a ticket without pulling you over so you never know?

Ever listen to Adam Carolla? He lives in LA, states how he a traffic cop sits at the bottom of a hill where he lives, directly across the street from about 25 illegal aliens selling food and drinks and looking for contractors to stop to offer work. They litter the F*ck out of the place, cops couldn't care less. Adam travels 4mph over the limit and they are on him like hair on a bar of soap....

Sorry bro, but Calf is broke. Our saying in Oregon is, "Go back to Calf, if you are going to bring your baggage with you"..........turns out, the best are leaving Cali for anywhere else, leaving only old relics like Gov Brown to run the place to the ground.

Yeah i have his podcast on my phone listen at work sometimes. Lol he cracks me up. Thats the truth though they get money giving a ticket.

I know the politicians in ca are running it to the ground. Sac mayor spent 70 mill on a committee to try to build a new arena for the kings so they would stay here and the deal fell through. Were cutting school funding and librarys are closing but we spend 70 mil on a committee that went no where. Ive been looking at houses up north near shasta. Just to get out of the crap in sacramento.

You still need to pay the ticket but I suggest plead not guilty and go to court two things can happen cop doesn't show up ticket dropped cop shows up ask him to make it a non moving violation , you pay the fine but no point on your drivers license and no waste of time with traffic school

Since 2011 I've gotten 6 tickets all late in the year over 2,000 dollars in fines but went to court four got dropped an I got my money back and two the cop showed up made it a non moving violation no point on drivers license and out within an hour

ROFL! People still think cops have quotas. It's federally mandated that is now illegal. Has been illegal since the coke wars of the 90s......

To all those who say fight the 500, what if you get found guilty? Court costs and penalties on your license are far more than that. Don't fight it. Plead guilty on their first offer on the trial date. It's the best offer you will get.

Check the state law, a few states actually have in the law that the ticket is invalid if it is not hand delievered by the officer. Therefore mailed tickets cannot be enforced in these states.

Ok guys. From someone who does this for a living....here's the truth. Mail tickets? Don't open them. Most don't come certified mail. What proof is there that you received it?

Cop does not have to show for court on a mail ticket. It's a civilian employee who reviews the facts and mails it to you anyway. Usually, this is a person who works for the court (jp or municipal) and is in the building already for daily work.

NEVER in my life have I heard of a hand delivered ticket from the officer. Citations are only issued under the JP of the area. Works that way everywhere.

Best bet...go...plead guilty for some community service or a lower fine. Don't try to fight it because you already have it in your hand. Now the proof is there that you saw it (unless you want to lie under oath that you didn't....DONT do that....). The only fighting chance you have is against the equipment...not the officer. That's where most people screw up. If you really want to fight it, find out if the unit is certified. If so, when was it last certified by the department? Is there a log of tuning the unit daily? Things like that. Does it work? Sure, but not often. More often than going to court and calling the cop a liar though. That never works...

Yeah right

" I didn't receive it!" Ignore it as if it didn't happen..The fine will DOUBLE..your registration will be revoked ,your license will be suspended..etc..SO just do that IGNORE the mailed ticket and SEE what happens...From someone who did this (police) for a living.

I think he's referring to the actual citation that has to be handed to the driver by the officer noting the offense pretty much right after it happens. Here in SC, there are no mail tickets. The officer catching someone speeding must stop the driver and hand them the ticket for the ticket to be valid. The LEO can't hide in the weeds, note your plate and mail you a speeding ticket. You can argue whether that's practical or not, but the law as it stands now is police departments can't ambush the motoring public via mail tickets.

But in this case, I don't see how it applies because we're not talking about a state that can't mail tickets.
