Why does asymetric half shaft help fight wheel hop? And why do say older CTS-V's with symetric half shafts hop so badly.

Not to say that you can't control it either way with good driving skills... Just wondered why it seems to help so much...

it is true that wheel hop generally occurs on one side, the other side doesn't bounce right?

I'm guessing it has somethig to do with the laws of physics.

This is correct because the pressure and torque on the other side is changed when the first wheel leaves the ground.

Not that it can't happen but the weight of the car changes. So it probably can happen just very rarely.

My truck could get some nasy wheel hop but I alway thought it was more due to a non LSD rear end.

I've since learned that even posi like diffs are prone to it also... Learning every day...
