Post count doesn't matter other than the combined posts of everyone on the site does help the site from a web rankings perspective. the more posts, the more hits, the more views, the more traffic, the more relevance and so on.

Bottom line, who cares. If people are bothered by someone with a high post count then they are not here for the right reasons. Camaro5 is a community. As such there is a social aspect that we embrace. Forums that have only on topic posts are pretty boring.

If you are someone who is here to just have a high post count, you are also not here for the right reasons.

Post count is a by-product of your activity on the site. It has nothing to do with popularity, or knowledge, or anything. it just shows how much time you spend here.
Well said

I wouldn't mind that much. Though I would be lying if I said I wouldn't care. The only reason I would care, is because I wouldn't see how many posts I had, w/o possibly going into my own profile.
But really it isn't the post count that keeps me coming to the forums

In this case it is. He's been a software engineer for over 30 years.

He's the best I've ever had the pleasure of working with.

Well its a proven fact that SEs are awesome but SEs that have reached 15 year experience time intervals get even more awesome

That's good though always glad to hear when people have a good experience with developers. A lot of tech people can be a bit odd but the most of us are friendly and good people

I totally agree with you, Chris. The people that get their panties in a wad over how high someones post count is, are nothing but immature. (Not talking about you, OP)

Just because we have high post counts, doesn't make us the D-bags of the forum. Most of us are pretty cool. Even the guy with the highest post count.

High post count, low post count, WGAF. I don't think that is what this site is about. I just look at a high post count as someone that really has no life, but I don't really care either way. They can do what they want.

I've been in some way a tech guy for nearly 20 years. And I agree, Developers have this weird exponential thing that happens after that 15 year mark. It's like all of a sudden they can solve any problem. My guy is like that.

If I can give him enough time, he'll figure it out. The one thing he hates is changing something he's already done due to a requirement change. Man that bugs him.

LOL Oh and documentation... but we all hate that...
