To me the best car ever made is different for everyone. In my case it's any car that seems to beckon you to drive it and when you have to get out you get sad. Right now it's my Camaro, before the Camaro it was my Saturn Sky.

I have owned over 100 cars in my lifetime. Each of them had bits and pieces of the accolades you espoused of in your post. None of them had all.

My honest opinion? My 1989 Mustang LX was the best bang for the buck. $12k (fairly inexpensive for the time) got you 225hp (14 second car), good looks for the era, A/C, power windows/locks, a sunroof, and a set of Eagle GT tires. I believe Motor Trend touted it as best bang for the buck that year.

Anyway, my 2SS has impressive features for sure. But it fails in many areas, too.

Sorry, but until you've owned a number of cars, you have no grounded experience in what the world has to offer for different types of cars.
I'm a little offended by this, myself being 23yo. Even though you may be speaking for the majoirty of us youngsters, you should not assume it for all. Just because I'm probably half your age does not mean that I haven't been around or driven many cars.

Growing up we never had any vehicles with power windows/locks, sunroofs, or a/c. That 89 mustang sounds loaded for the time. If you compare the '10/11/12 camaro with the competitors it is lacking many of the tech features that, to me, are pointless.

I have driven every chrsler(and their associated companies) vehicle made in the last 5 years and I don't mean just a test drive. I mean daily. I also drove for quite some time the older models of chevy impala, camaro, lumina, pontiac g6, boneville ssei, dodge intrepid, durango, a CTS, DTS, '13 mustang gt, and several trucks.

Granted my driving experience has been with vehicles from 1979-current but I still have more variety than most people twice my age.

Now, IMO of what's important to me, I still have to say the camaro I currently have is the best bang for the buck that I have driven. Still want my lambo though.

This.

OP, I suggest you change the original post to include that this is your opinion and that ''Which of the cars you have owned do you think was the best bang for the buck?''

That's how I took it, but apparently the way it's currently writen attracts a$$holes...

I apologize if my reference to age offends you. The only point I was trying to make is that a person of that age hasn't had as many opportunities to own or drive as many vehicles as the majority of the 5th Gen demographic.

I have many friends my age that have not owned, and have not driven nearly as many vehicles as myself. As a former Ford/Lincoln/Mercury/Mazda/Porsche/Suzuki tech, and dealer service manager, I have driven literally thousands of different cars. 2006 Porsche Carrara GT, Vipers, Vettes, Shelbys, and everything in-between. So, I stand by my original statement, and make no apologies for that.

But you don't know that man, you know nothing about me lol. On average with the general population sure, but when it comes to car enthusiasts the age thing goes out the window. I have not owned as many cars as you, but that doesn't mean I don't know cars as well as you. Or rather, it doesn't mean I'm not an enthusiast who spends a lot of his free time doing various car enthusiast related things.

I've been to the track countless times, I race regularly up near me at a circuit racing track. I've probably seen every Top Gear episode 100,000 times. I've done most of my mods myself. My old car was all done myself except for the exhaust welding. At 17 I gutted it myself, built a custom intake and installed a wet nitrous kit entirely myself with many custom pieces. To the point where I even brought it to a mechanic that used to run nitrous and at an initial look through he couldn't spot it. Raced that car 100s of times and never broke it.

Does that make me an expert? Absolutely not, but I definitely know more than the average person. AS DOES everyone else on this website. I bet almost everyone on here can do mundane tasks like change a tire. The average person in the general population can't change a tire. Some people don't even know how to pump their own gas! LOL

All I'm trying to say is, on this site, unless the person proves otherwise, you should afford them the respect that they are an enthusiast and aren't brain dead.

Using your criteria, I would have to say the Dodge Challenger hands down.

Give me a break.

Why don't you walk around at the next car show telling people that? Video tape their reactions for me.

Amen. Threads/owners/attitudes like this make me embarassed to be a 5th gen owner.
