I smell fraud. Cars simply do not run away in such a way that there is no way to shut them down (at least not gas-powered ones). That guy is either too stupid to be alive, or did it on purpose. I'd love to see the EDR data from that car.

Well he couldn't figure out how to shut his car off and stop it for 25 miles, so yeah I believe it could happen. Anyone with any common sense could have stopped it in the first half mile or less.
I guess he must have been driving over 100 when his gas pedal "STUCK", his brakes failed and the gear shift stopped working. Now that is unbelievable.

So you believe as he was cruising down the highway, dude hits the wrong pedal. Car starts screaming down the highway. He panics...cant get it to stop for 25 MILES, calls the police, hits an emergency stop lane and never once thought....maybe to stop my car I should stop ACCIDENTALLY hitting my gas.
You underestimate the stupidity of the human being

Update and police dash cam video:
http://news.yahoo.com/video/vehicles...023308404.html

It was a woman driving lol

I call BS. Even if the pedal was somehow stuck I think that thing would be capable of speeds over 100mph. Funny how she "suddenly" comes to a stop at the end. No way.

(Note to self: Next time I'm cruising down the interstate at 100 and I pass a cop, slam it to the floor and call 911. Drive like a moron. Then call local media. Ticket avoided.)

The guy is a space kadet tweeker. Barefoot, no shoes, headphones BS.
The Pontiac G6 is the same as a Cobalt. All GM cars have a "black box" that records throttle position. GM will upload the box and call the guy a liar.
I think space kadet wants a new car and plans to sue GM to get another one. GM will give him a car to keep him quiet.
Remember the runaway Prius on I8 near San Diego? Same BS story.
