Well made it home from the Fest safe and sound and imagine my surprise when I got home.........Matt had the A/C working...no leaks.........no drips and it was cold air BUT as with anything else on this truck we quickly realized the vents are too small.:(

They had put some cool LOOKING vents in teh dash but they are not really functional so when I have it painted I will have some new dash vents installed, currently they blow staright back and cant be adjusted from side to side.

We also have fixed the headlight/parklight/turn signal issue. We had crossed two wires in the switch when we wired it so a little trouble shooting and now the dash lights, park lights and headlights all work.....Not bad for my first wiring job to only have two wires crossed.

Slowly but surely the little things we found on the shakedown runs are getting took care of and THAT is a good thing...Hopefully real soon I get to go to the ole country road with Uncle Paul.

Worked on Mr. Hyde last night

We did a little playing with the tune and quickly realized one thing.....injector size is way too small Luckily I have another set of injectors thanks to Randy (PQ)....The only thing I have to do is change the connectors from the wiring harness so they fit the new injectors and get new connectors.

Seemed to have the header leak fixed......I put multi-layer metal gaskets on it so hopefully once they are sealed then I will be good to go.

Power windows didn't work so we fooled with that for a little bit only to realize that fuse was bad Note to self when things do not work check the fuse first

Still working on getting the speedo working.......The computer shows the speed but it does not register...Gonna call Classic instruments today to see what the deal is.

Temperature sensor switch should be in today so I'll change that tonight and re-wire the fan control...currently we have it wire to come on when the A/C switch is on. When the switch is fixed it will come on at 185* and go off about 205* and it will come on anytime the A/C is on. I am wiring it up so that it even runs when the truck is turned off and will cool it down to at least 185*.

Making Progress and that is a good thing. Did take it out last night for a little drive which is always fun.

That is how mine was originally wired up but Matt changed it so that it would come on a 185 and off at 205...He made some kind of relay that has a fuse that is easily accessible and walmart sells if you are in a bind.......What happened was the switch on the block went bad but it will get replaced today. It will run until the motor cools down to 185 even if the key is turned off.

Mr. Hyde has an appointment Monday afternoon at the upholstery shop. I am taking him by and getting an estimate and schedule an appointment to get the interior installed, Stereo installed and get it fixed right up.

Normal interior shops that are worth their salt usually have a big back log and this one is no different. So hopefully Monday I can get an appointment.

I know this shops work...they did an 1985 Chevy truck for me about 20 years ago so that is a good thing.

Worked on Hyde over the weekend.

Parts suck....We played around with the power windows for awhile only to realize the NEW power window switch was just like the old one...Broke....Pretty sad that new parts don't work.......

Then we figured we would try and fix the speedometer...yep and you guessed it BROKE...simply would not work.....Even though it is brand new the warranty ran out long ago....Idiot strikes again. So now I am going to have to buy a new speedometer problem is that they do not make the one I have anymore so I will probably have to buy all new gauges which really sucks!

BUT we are making progress day by day.

I know the feeling......Parts nowadays ae not of the quality the used to be.....add to the fact that I bought them almost 9 years ago and the warranty has been long gone....I guess you never really know what parts will do after sitting in a body shop type of environment for years.

I have until November to file on idiot...The lawter wanted me to get everything fixed so I would have a total cost of re-imbursement......Either today or tomorrow I will be taking Hyde to a shop to get the estimate on the interior, stereo etc...work so I can get everything totaled up.

I fully expect not to get anything from him but I am gonna make him suffer what I can. Luckily the lawyer is taking it on contigency and that is a good thing!

Yeah pretty much having to re-do everything. Just hard to imagine new parts not working but that is the case.......Hopefully the new ones will be here in a week or so...Since they are GM Officially Licensed products then they are more expensive and take a little onger to get.

I just finished reading this entire thread and I can't say how impressed I am with the ongoing effort you have put into this. I had never seen this thread before but I spent a couple days parked next to F5journal at the fest and he told me some of the story and where to find it.

It certainly seems that you are finally nearing the end of an almost never ending story. Good luck to you with the rest of that journey.

I have a project car in my garage I haven't touched since I got my Camaro and I have to say your story inspires me to get back to work on it. You have certainly proved that there are rewards for just continuing on when everything looks impossible.
