I never quite made it to Oshawa...I got arrested and spent the night in jail instead so that was NOT a WIN

Because I'm a dumba$$...lol. Hopefully you won't mind me just copying my post from another site because it's not exactly a short story...

Okay…it’s all kind of embarrassing…but here’s what happened. Apparently I wasn’t paying attention...because I was talking to my niece and traveling with a couple other cars down the Interstate…but a Texas State Trooper clocked me at 97 in a 65. I saw the lights in my rear view mirror so I took the next exit and stopped. When the trooper approached my open window instead of asking for my license and insurance he asked my niece and I to get out of the car and and to step around to the rear of the car. The trooper then said he wanted to search my car (which isn’t legal in Texas without a warrant) but I gave my consent because I had no reason not to.

The first thing the trooper found was an unmarked bottle of Tylenol in my glove box which he refused to believe was Tylenol…next he found a small green container full of cinnamon Altoids in my console…which he apparently thought was some kind of new designer drug even though I told him what they were…so that got him really excited…then he searched all of our luggage and he found a joint of marijuana in my niece’s bag. The trooper asked whose pot it was and my niece never fessed up so I eventually said it was mine.

I learned a few things in my teenage years and one of them was if NO ONE takes responsibility EVERYONE goes to jail…plus there’s no way I’m telling the family that my niece got busted on my watch…lol. So for me….the admission was a no brainer…that way my niece went free to drive Envy home and save her from a towing to the impound lot and although I've never been arrested before I was pretty sure a night in jail wasn’t going to kill me.

Since I know in the State of Texas anything under two ounces is a misdemeanor and usually results in the confiscation of the drugs and a $200 ticket I asked the trooper what the deal was on the ride to the station. He informed me that the State Troopers have a zero tolerance policy and arrest for any amount.

So there you have it…I went to jail for a joint, some Tylenol and some breath mints…lol…and I was issued a warning for the 97 in a 65.
I did hit a milestone on my odometer before my arrest earlier that day...10000 for the WIN

But there is a lot more background to this story that has nothing to do with the trip so there are many reasons that I did what I did. My niece has spent 3 separate nights in three different jails this year because the State of Texas sucks and can't get there sh*t straight. She has an occupational driver's license order signed by a judge that my attorney obtained for her back in November but the state never updated here records to show that she has the occupational license...so each time she has been pulled over for a traffic stop she has been jailed for driving without a license. So I think she's been more than punished for things she didn't do already.

And the last thing I would ever do is leave a man behind...so going to Oshawa and leaving her in jail was NEVER an option. What you'll don't know is that a whole bunch of crap has happened in the last few weeks more than enough stuff to make most people cancel their trip but I wanted to go so bad that I ignored it all. Then I was telling one of my best friends about all of it on Tuesday...the day before we left and she looked at me and said "Hillary...did it ever occur to you that maybe someone's trying to tell you something here...like don't go?" I laughed and said no that never occurred to me so she insisted on giving me a St. Christopher medal to put in my car to protect me on the drive. And as I sat there in jail...contemplating whether I should still drive or just catch a plane to Oshawa when I was released in the morning...I thought about what my friend said and I realized I really wasn't meant to go for whatever reason. I'm always bad about not listening to that inner voice but when it starts screaming this d*mn loud it becomes hard to ignore.

And I'm not concerned at all about this hurting me down the road...I've had my own business for 20 years now and I won't hold it against me...lol. Plus my attorney of 25 years has already found 3 huge problems with the arrest so it will likely never go to trial.
Another picture I took on my way home from picking up my replacement cut-out switch on Wednesday...

Yes it was...on the way to jail I thought to myself...this won't be too bad...I'm exhausted so I'll just sleep all night, get up well rested and eat one square on the state in the morning before I go home. Unfortunately I didn't wind up in a big city jail...I went to a good ol' boy jailhouse where they don't give you a cell at all. I was kept in a concrete holding cell with one glass wall for observation and a steel bench to sit or lay on. The room was brightly lit and the temperature was set at a frigid 55 degrees for bacteria control. So I never got a wink of sleep all night and I just kept praying I never had to go to the bathroom because I was never going anywhere near that rusty metal thing in the corner.

I was alone for the first 4 hours...then joined by four other young ladies (18-20) over the next 8 hours...all serious criminals arrested for pot or a couple of Xanex. I was lucky enough to be released in the morning but none of the other girls were going home anytime soon because they couldn't get in touch with anyone. Turns out you can't call anyone on a cell phone line from jail...only a conventional land line and who has one of those anymore?

I don't want or expect jail to be a nice place but this crap was just fn ridiculous!

OH HI ENVY! Nice to have you back .

P.S. You are much too pretty for a holding cell. You probably looked very out of place lol.
