Lol, what year was it? Perhaps she got it confused with different HP numbers between different years of the LT's. I've met people in my city who think the RS package adds power and such.

Hers is a 2010. It could be that, but then I also heard that GM was keeping the true HP on the DL until Ford released the Mustangs, THEN they let out the true numbers.

GM was just too lazy to get the 2010's LLT engine SAE certified so they just used the 2010 Cadillac CTS's SAE rating because they knew it was greater than or equal to the LLT in the CTS. They finally got it rated in 2011 to be a buzzkill to Ford.

Essentially every Camaro with an LLT has 312 HP. It just wasn't advertised as that for 2010MY.

Yeah, for 2012 they switched over to the LFX engine which puts out 323 HP. So she may just not know the engine switch ever occurred.
