There is the problem. You shouldn't have to give up anything other than chasing other women.

Having to give up things you like to do leads to resentments later.

you might not like everything they do and vice versa but you shouldnt have to give up anything to be with someone. They should bring things into your life not take them away. My bf is huge into sports, me not so much, but he wasnt into cars like I am. Well now we go to shows together all the time bc he enjoys it and Im starting to like sports. Its all a trade. I would never tell him he couldnt watch sports just bc I dont like them. Theres more then one tv in my house and I can always go hang out with friends if I wanted too. No biggie.

I was married for 32 years....got married young, raised 2 children, then stuff happened, kind of grew apart, then she decided that she wanted out. I got divorced at the age of 54 and was kind of lost for a while. Got into a relationship with at woman 10 years younger, took off like a rocket, then crashed like one about a year later. Enjoyed going out, traveling, just dating. Nothing went very far because they always found something with me they tried to change....not happening. Then I met a woman close to my age that I was very compatible with and liked to do things with me and most important......LET ME BE ME!!!!! Exactly as I am, no changes. We have been together now for 2+ years and when I broached the idea of buying my ragtop, all she said was GO FOR IT!! So I did! Neither of us want to be married again (she was married before also) because we are afraid it will screw things up. You know what she tells people? That we are Free-together.....I love that statement.

I gave up one night stands and a considerable amount of bar time when I met her, but now she goes out with me. She has learned about car shows and fishing and lots of baseball with me. And if I go to a ballgame alone, she just says 'have fun, see ya later on'. She is sooooo cool.

Good luck to you, I hope you do well.

I'm married and just had our first kid. Being married is pretty cool, you don't have to try and figure out an excuse to get the random girl from last night to leave. Having kids is the best thing ever.

Meet Kathie online in 1997, got married in 1998. She had two small girls who father was killed in a motorcycle accident. We have since had a son together and have been married 14 years. I would never want to be single again. Love her to much.

That's great, ragtop. Continued happiness to you both.

I had a similar situation with my ex-wife - married 15 years. The last few we grew distant and spent less time with each others interests, so I broke it off. About a year later, started dating a gal I was good friends with. We've been happily un-wed for over 16 years now.

I'm 32, married, with two kids and one on the way. I really don't miss the single life at all. Even when my wife takes the kids to her parents and I have a few free days to myself, the novelty quickly wears off and I want to see be with them again.

I have some single friends still, they share their stories and lives of course, and I've found I have no desire to live vicariously through them. In fact, sometimes they remind me how good I have it at home ha ha.

There are a lot of compromises and trade-offs being in a relationship but when you find someone that's worth it, hang on tight. There are aspects of single life I miss, but if he wasn't around I'd be bereft. We both know what the dealbreakers are and we don't go there.

10 years married and a 4 year old. Do I miss being single? Yes and No

I would not trade my son for anything, nor the wife (well sometimes ). But I sure do miss the free time. I miss sleeping late and taking naps when I damn well please. I miss spending money on toys and not getting yelled at.

But do I miss the dating scene and the loneliness? Heck NO

21 and been dating the same girl for almost 3 yrs, 8/13 will be our 3yr ann.

At times, hell yeah I wish I was single again. But then again I think I've found a great girl, she lets me do my thing with my motorcycles and cars, rides in/on them with me, attends all the shows and meets I know she doesn't care for and listens to me blab on and on about car and bike related stuff. She's a keeper.

You are right on the mark, Rock. Count your blessings and continue the awesome life of love and family. Your situation is much less common than you might think - treasure it.

Thanks, we're both still relatively young so hopefully we stand the test of time. But since she doesn't seem to have any intentions of making me get rid of my vette, I think we will be good for the long run

Proof you are married: You would completely avoid writing down anything in this thread no matter what....(except what I am saying here) since I am not actually commenting on marriage itself.....just commenting on the "commenting" on this thread without any comments.

notice most of the replies are from people "non-married" who can say whatever they want without concern of anything
