Yes it's a very good thing!

I too am not happy with my weight and am trying to lose weight. Just hard right now with school and work. Perhaps I'll be able to better handle it once I finish school.

it was hard for me with school too. I started just getting up before work at 5 to work out, and then pushed it to 4:30. After work was my school time so....
But I also watched what I ate (ok I still do so...)
And now that I graduated I have time after work to walk so...
I'd just start with cutting down calories and stuff - maybe cut our soft drinks or drinking a lot if you do that -- you'll see changes. Then when you are done with classes and have more time to put in workouts it'll be easier too.

Some people are stupid and just pop kids out and then go OMG it's EXPENSIVE?? And have no effing clue.
It's much better to be prepared and know then to just be surprised. Although, you will never really be prepared. But at least you know you don't want to do it alone and would like to be a bit more financially stable so that's a huge advantage

No, I understand completely. but I don't think you understand that your numbers don't mean shit in the real world.
there are plenty of single parents out there working shit jobs making much less than minimum wage, working multiple jobs, etc just to cover basic expenses.

My point is, you don't know what you can and can't do until you are actually in the situation.
All you can do is prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
