I actually think it looks good for what it is, stolen design techniques or not, it looks better than the taurus.

It has THE worst looking steering wheel I have ever seen

I like the new Impala. It's classy. To me, the 2005 looks real plain. The only thing the 2005 has going for it are the throwback tail lamps.

IMHO, the 2000-2005's at least had a little personality, especially the 2004-2005 SS's (I had a 2005). I think Chevy super-dropped the ball on the 2006-present Imp design; very unimaginative and looks like a big egg.

Ugh, you are right about the steering wheel. Good thing they didn't put THAT in the Camaro!

I saw one up close and in person at a preview... it looks really good. I'm not a big fan of the steering wheel but the car does have a differentiating look when you see it live.

Good grief it's an Imapla, which usually winds up as fleet or rental vehicle and something for the average driver. I had a 04 Indy Edition Impala SS which I loved the look of. My wife currently has a 06 Impala. I think this new Impala, while not as great as an Indy SS, is better looking than the 06.

That steering wheel is turrible, just turrible.

You can actually see this front end design throughout most new models these days. The rounded grill with headlamps that wrap around from the front to the side. It's even on SUVs these days, just compare a Grand Cherokee to a Ford Edge - two completely different vehicles with pretty much the same shape on the front.

I hope there will be at least a few cars in every line that are unique...

My thoughts, as per usual, I will reserve judgement until I see the final product. From what I have seen though, the car is stunning. As for the comment about it looking like a Taurus, duh! Same class of car, direct competitors. BTW, what's wrong w/ the Taurus? I think it's a very handsome looking car? I suggest getting your vision checked if you feel the new Impala is ungainly in any way. Ugly is the Chevy Spark, Impala.... very nice.

Now if only they made a SS coupe Impala w/ RWD.
