Well, all you can do is try, but sometimes it's just not there. You have to love your job and what you are doing cuz if not life is miserable. I know how you feel cuz I'm in the same boat here. Well, I hope this one you applied for works out perfectly for you! All you can do is try and the worse they can say is "no" and even then there are plenty more jobs out there. Technically - I should be the "favored: one - but somehow, I just get the pat on the back with "do more work" while others slack and get to do projects and get promotions and I get the carrot dangled in front of me
I feel a little abused and used here most days.

Oh the NC job is at my current company - I'm trying to stay here bc it's really a great place - just not the team I'm on now
Plus they are putting in a new initiative and a new approach to creating better customer service and I the whole idea. It's the same principles that the big innovative companies use to create new tech and being a techy, with a new tech degree, and super LOVING the concept - I'm really excited by the prospect of being able to work on that team.
I'd onlt get the reject right away b/c right now I'm not a "customer experience researcher" and I am not in commuting distance to NC - but if they read by fill in question that might be ok -- b/c I said I was willing to relocate myself and I could show that I am analytical, a multi-tasker, innovatice, and knew the concepts they wanted.
Plus if I can get the HR guy for the other job to share his notes with whomever is the contact for this one....well
