Road Signs FAIL

I'd bet we've seen posts like this before but today I came upon a classic road marking failure. Seems the guy who was putting "Ahead" (as in "Stop Ahead") on the road didn't think far enough ahead to figure out if all the letters would fit. Johnson Pond Rd near Apex, NC.

The last photo was at the exit of the National Whitewater Center in Charlotte. Helpful don't you think (NOT!)

Well, the 485 signs just tells you that entrances are on the right and the left. Weird but not really terribly confusing. There's probably other signs that indicate which direction each entrance ramp leads to

Yeah I totally understand, some road signs are ridiculous. There's this one sign that has three green arrows in Tampa and all say Casey Road and each one points in a different direction.

But not so. Head left and you can go north or south. Head right and you can go north or south. Each is at least a few miles down, not just around the corner. I came from the right so that is how I headed back, but how is this sign any help (it is a T intersection)? I guess it can reassure you that any choice is the right choice.

??

So the sign does say that there are entrances on each side, and other signs tell you which entrance goes to which direction?

Isn't that what I posted, lol?

Where I live they could put a sign up reading left to 512 or straight to 512. It will take to 512 but about mile apart.
Back in the early seventies taking I-95 north they had a sign that read Washington 2 miles then 3 then 4 miles.

True but I would not call the sign confusing so much as useless. Taxpayers spent perhaps $500 to get signs posted that say nothing at all. Perhaps I should qualiify the details here in that at this corner you can only go right or left, there is no straight ahead.

Well, yes, the signs do seem to be the definition of 'useless'

Nowadays, the most useless signs seem to be stop signs since hardly anyone actually stops at them.

I love the one in Northern Ontario that reads "Large vehicles need more room"
