Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

So I need some input on an exhaust setup for a L99.

Anyways, I may soon be a 2010 2SS/RS L99 owner. I know the exhaust is different underneath (huge resonator) due to the AFM. I won't tune it out right away because of wanting to keep warranty. My concern is how an aftermarket exhaust will sound on the car because of AFM. Am I better off waiting to install an exhaust after I tune it out?

Also, do you all have any input on an exhaust setup that would sound great on a SS (after AFM tuned out) that is made from quality materials, works well with a s/c, and will last for a while. I eventually want long tube headers, high-flow cats?, new catback exhaust to replace L99 exhaust, and double rolled round tips. I am unsure of what size LT's to get as well as catback piping size. I want something that is not super loud all the time, but I don't want a super quiet system. I want something that is heard, but subtle during idle/around town and loud when I get on it. If that makes sense.

everything in bold sounds like a corsa catback.

i can't answer any of the questions on how it will sound with AFM though.

also, as far as LT size, if you want a SC, then i would suggest a header with 2" primaries.

Lgndryhr, if it's going to be a while before you get a tune and complete exhaust setup, a cheap alternative would be a muffler delete and reuse the stop tips. my roommate did this on his l99 and loves it.

I have the lg cat back exhaust. I love it, but it's a little quiet. Never heard one with headers though. Super high quality

I was thinking of a muffler delete for now.
