Weight for drivetrain and reigning that power in are DEFINITELY understandable, but saying it needs to be bigger to be bigger is something I hope GM will avoid.
I think it might be a bit bigger overall than the ATS in order to keep the proper Camaro proportions while giving it enough interior space.

The Camaro needs a long hood/short deck body. The ATS has an 'average hood'/short deck body. To keep those proportions, they'd need to cut into the passenger compartment a little. The problem with doing that is the 5th gen already has 10% less interior volume than what the ATS will have, so they can't exactly cut much out for the next one. I'd say they need to more or less maintain the current interior volume. That means that the only other option is to make the car bigger overall.

If I had to guess how'd they'd do this, I'd say they add an inch or two to the wheelbase, then another inch or two to the front end. That would put it, exterior wise, kinda in between where the Camaro is now and where the ATS will be. Also (as a neat little factoid), it would give it almost the exact same wheelbase & length as the 2006 Camaro concept (which is slightly smaller than the 5th gen)

A coupe should have less interior room than a luxury sedan. At only 10% less it is actually surprising how much room it DOES have. Hopefully they can do more with less (size that is).

Both Photoshops. I know the people who did both. Very very good designs though.

Yes they are.

The silver one would likely see too many changes before production... I'd be amazed if they built anything with so much wheel size variation front to rear. BUT it sure gives it a muscular look.

I believe the red one is a 6th gen design proposal.

It's late enough in the game, I imagine they're well into the clay work... I'm sure whatever they come up with will be pretty good, a lot to live up to tho after the 5th gen design.

I hope not. It looks good, but doesn't say Camaro to me. If the Camaro ends up like this I may be going elsewhere for my next car.

I like the design. I like the 5th gen better, but I still think the red car is a good looking car although I didn't see the front or back of it. I do like the windows on that car.

That design is certainly more sports car-ish. It isn't retro, and I don't think whatever the next gen looks like will be.
