might not mean anything, but it seems that there are a lot more users in the v6 section, looking to mod/boost.

and i've taken the time to visit both area's now, and the v8 section is BORING.

Used truck shopping is maddening.

Yea the V6 community is a lot larger and more active, but like others have said the average joe just wants it for looks. Also, my understanding of a DI engine is there isn't as much power to gain from basic bolt-ons.

More V8 owners mod their cars.

Since I found out I can tune my car and turn the ECM back without it showing in the registry if something happens, a tune is next on my list
be careful about this.

GM monitors this site.. if your engine happens to pop.. i have a feeling they will fight it as much as possible if they can use this site to prove you tuned it and changed it back.

Thats what I was trying to say about the performance aspect of it.

So true. I just want to find a used 2010/11 2SS that has below 20k miles and isn't modded to hell. As well as a few requirements such as color and price.

i don't know. i think that if there was a tune available like hp tuners, there would be a whole lot more boosted v6's. maybe even more than the v8.

i mean think about it. you can get a LS for 22k and some change. spend 10k in mods/boost, still have great gas mileage and still push out around 400-500whp, all while still spending less than the v8.

i understand some people want more power, and yes, starting at the v8 platform is smarter for those people, but there are a lot of people that would be more than happy with my scenario above.

hell, i was putting out 373whp with just bolt ons and nitrous.

Thats because more and more poeple from the V6 side are starting to want the boost. So they are becoming more active. With the V8's already having well established parts there is less to talk about and less questions about whats coming out and what the news is with different boost options.

i know of at least 2 active guys on this site with v6's that have openly talked about having a trifecta tune. both blew their motors, flashed back to stock, and GM paid to fix them...
