Actually the Space Shuttle hardly ever hurts the ozone layer when launched.

Well considering it travels up to 17,500 MPH in 8 minutes, travels 350 miles high in 8 minutes, and uses up 500,000 gallons of fuel in 8 minutes.. You do the math.

I wish. But unfortunately, no. Atleast not with our current Orbitors. It would be cheaper to just make new ones. Space Shuttle Discovery is already in her retirement home, Endeavour is leaving for her retirement home in two months, and Atlantis is traveling down the road sometime this year. All Space Shuttles have had their flight components removed. They can't fly again.

Lame...we should've kept at least one flight ready. Just in case.
