Silverado vs F-150

Has anyone here owned both the f-150 and silverado. If so which one was better. I am a chevy guy so i bought the silverado but i am starting to look at the f-150's and they have a lot nicer interior for the same price.

The GMT-900s have been around since 2006...new trucks are less than a year away.

Well i hope their interiors are a bunch nicer because the silverado's interior i must say is . And hopefully it's more roomier too.

The best truck can't be bought. If it could it would be a Ford F250 with a Dodge Cummins engine and a GM Allision transmission.

It's a good truck. It can haul really well and it's very reliable. But it has terrible rattles but that's partly because the whole interior is literally just plastic. And the road noise also is really bad.

I just made that same choice. I need to tow a car hauler trailer that weighs 8100lbs with the car. I looked at the Silverado 1500 configured with a maximum towing capacity of 9100 lbs. 8100 was too close to that max, so I would have to step up to a 2500 but the gas mileage would have been a nightmare, unless I went with a diesel. Problem is, a diesel adds $7K to the price of the truck.

So I looked at the Fords and thought I was facing the same decision, until I saw they had a twin-turbo V6 option ($1100 up-charge) in the F150. With the max towing package, it has a towing capacity of 11,300lbs! So, it gets good gas mileage and tows like a mule.

I bought an SCT tuner for it, which added 50rwhp and over 100ft-lb of additional torque!

So, I have a truck that looks like a luxury SUV inside, but tows like a super duty beast.

i don't know why gm doesn't tell anyone this, but you can get a 6.2 gas in a half ton with the max towing package. 7300 gvw and 10,700 towing. i have one. it has wicked power and now that it's broken in, better on fuel than my 09 5.3 was.

If you don't like the interior then wait for the next body style. It's probably going to have the mylink entertainment system.

Ford and Dodge are lightyears ahead of GM right now in the truck sector. For the life of me I can't imagine why anyone would buy a Silverado instead of a RAM or F-150 right now.

Maybe the next Generation of Silverado will have serious interior upgrades. If not, it is not even close.

And yes, I own an F-150.

I had a 2009 gmc sierra "all-terrain" and now an '11 f150. The f150 is lot nicer in most every aspect.

The new body chevy/gmc's should be nice though. Then the new f150's in the fall of 13 or mid 14.
