Pontiac returns...to Spain?
Some company in Spain ( Tauro) is using the Solstice chassis and dropping an LS3 in it...

These guys have packages for existing Solstice/Sky roadsters up to and including LS7 engines.
http://www.mallettcars.com/solstice-conversion.htm IIRC Delorean was looking at taking over Solstice production too. The Kappa platform is a lot better than I had originally known, it is no surprise other companies like this Spanish one are picking up on it. The Solstice dominated its categories in SCCA Club Racing National Championships from 2006-2008. |

Wow Fox is even dumber than usual...
"The Tauro V8 Spider is based on the chassis of a Pontiac Solstice but gets a 6.2-liter LS3 V-8 engine sourced from GM. This is the same engine found in the Corvette supercar and in the Tauro V8 Spider it is rated at 440 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque and is matched to either a manual or automatic transmission." Last time I checked the Base Corvette, or any Corvette for that matter, isn't a super car. I'd argue the Z06 and ZR1 offer supercar level performance but to call the base Corvette a super car is just uninformed. The Tauro V8 Spider is cool though, wouldn't want one cause the Solstice was a girls car but cool idea regardless. |
