What is it with the southwest

Son and I are coming into his neighborhood and the sherriff's dept is blocking his driveway! Later on a tow truck is returning a car to the other neighbor(it was stolen)

BTW, good morning! Headed home in a bit!

Something like that. We never really know what happens as most of that doesn't make the news. Just as well or I might build a concrete bunker and never come out.

My 35 year old son called me yesterday and said "How ya doing you ol' fart?" I said "what do ya mean - I'm not so old!".
Here in Pueblo West we got over a week of 100+*F temps and 3,500+ acres of burning woods in the mountains west of Springs. C-130 Hurcules aircraft flying retardant all day from Pueblo Airport to the mountains trying to contain this fire so it doesn't get to homes that people have been evaculated. This started Saturday and yesterday 4 new fires were started. High heat and dry woods are like a match stick but arson is suspected now. Shame on these crazy people who put lives in harms way!

Amen to that. C. Springs is/was my second home. The fire that is the major concern here in Utah is suspect of having been started by persons unknown. Homes have already been lost. But no loss of life, thank goodness. Firefighters are putting their lives on the line to contain this thing. "Shame on these crazy people who put lives in harms way!"

Ya'll just need to move here... no fires, no tropical storms, no police activity in my neighborhood. Granted, the forecast is for drizzle with a high of 65, but... we could all see each other more often!

Ladybugsmom, Washington is a beautiful state and I enjoyed Olympic Penninsula camping, surf fishing, eating dungenous crab, taking the ferry, and visiting the Duke's Marina with his PT boat remodeled into a deep sea fishing vessel. However that year (many years ago) Mt St Helen blew it's top and turnned that mountain into a bald headed hill - without a top and trees. That was a scorcher. Some time I'll return to do it again.

Tori, sorry we missed you on your fly by night trip to Seattle! How are the new wheels?
Jay, feel for ya with the wild fires. This was my home town a couple years ago. They had to evacuate most of it, so my "in town" relatives camped out with my "out of town" brother.
