Trying to debate if I should get new tread or not. It wouldn't be so hard to decide if I had the car longer than a year and wasn't planning on trading, but I've only had it for one year end of this month and won't have this car for another year.

About a month ago my tread wear levels were at ~7/32 on both fronts, ~5.5/32 on the driver side rear, and ~4/32 on the passenger side rear.

Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

You don't need it yet. I got down to 2/32 before I started seriously considering it. They're pirellis, it's Summer, they're sticky. Keep running them!

I'm used to changing tires out at 4/32 or 3/32. Never had summer performance tires before. Yea they still grip just fine for me on and off the track. What did you replace yours with? I guess run them until I start to fish tail during the winter. Hopefully they make it until I trade up.

I found a set of new Pirellis for $600 and so that's what I replaced them with. Still haven't replaced the fronts, though, they're just sitting in my garage. 32k on the fronts. Got to 28k on the rears.

Yeah, keep running them till winter, it'll be fine. When do you plan on trading?

Sweet deal there! If I have to replace my rears it will be with either Nitto Invo's or Nitto NT05. I'm at ~16k miles right now. I figure I'll get 30k miles out of my fronts. That's good mileage for both!

Yea winter (if we even have on this year) is when I'll see if they're still good or not.

I plan on trading during end of spring/beginning of summer next year.

When I replace next time it'll be with General GMax. 45k treadlife is a lot better than 25k!

I cannot imagine my car without summer tires now. I eventually want to have two sets. My summer set and all season set for the rest.

GAH I hate having to tell people that I had cancer. It's embarassing, and I don't know why it embarasses me so much, but it does. Makes me feel weak.

if you have doubt then I would leave it be till you can have someone put it on for you.. no sense in wasting the money cause you messed up.. you will kick yourself for it.. better to let someone else mess it up and then replace it for you free
